I went by Fulton "Armory" and for lack of a better term it is in a strip mall.  It is obvious they aren't pounding out receivers there. Do they have a shop? One that you can go in and by stuff?

As far as I know, you can't enter the shop.  They prefer to deal strictly by mail, phone, e-mail, but no in person.

In the past you were able to place the order on-line and arrange to pick it up at their office.  They were only doing it one day per week but I don't know if they are still willing to do that.  They also used to have a table at the Frederick shows with a bunch of their flat top HBAR FAR-15s but I didn't see them set up the last time I went.

A long while back you could go any day of the week to pick up orders, then they made it Friday's only and now never.  I don't buy from them anymore because of that.  I don't want to pay sales tax AND shipping on top of full retail and having to wait 2 days for my stuff even though I live and work within 5 miles of their facility.

If I'm going to have to mail order I'll do it from places that charge less and won't charge me sales tax.

IMHO Clint screwed the pooch with prohibiting pick-ups.

Same here. Friends and I have spent over 30k with them prior to the "no pickup" mandate. The local shows suck so I won't see them in person there either. Now we just buy everything elsewhere...

I'm in the same boat as you guys.  It's cheaper to order online elsewhere and not pay the tax.

They don't pound out any receivers. All the receivers are made by another manufacturer and branded Fulton. I think they are made by DPMS.

I used to deal with them a lot too. I'm done.

They have ALWAYS acted like walk-ins were both terribly confusing and a huge pain in their collective ass. I have ALWAYS felt like an idiot for doing business with someone so disdainful of their  clientele.

The "Friday Only" thing was bad enough, then it was Fridays after 1pm. I really expected it to become "appointment only" at some point, but I guess we just skipped to the final goal.

I often suspected it was somehow a condition of his zoning or FFL that he maintained some sort of regular store hours, and that was the only reason he would tolerate the Great Unwashed coming into his shop.

I even tried to deal with them mail order, but their shipments didn't get here any faster than stuff I had coming from ten states away. Their shipping costs are the same as ten states away too, AND there's the sales tax issue.

Add to the fact that they don't have anything any better, or any cheaper, than anyone else, and they have just made to way too clear to me that they really don't care about local business.

I just don't have the patience to force someone to do business with me when they so clearly don't want it, nor do I want to pay shipping AND sales tax and then wait two weeks for a delivery from a "store" that's 10 minutes from home.

The ONLY redeeming quality I have seen is that they seem to actually look at orders they are filling and have alerted me in the past that I have asked for two items that won't work together. In one situation, I was working on two rifles and the parts didn't have to work together, but another situation they did save me some time and money by questioning my selection and correcting my error.

Anyway, Clint only screwed the pooch IF this isn't how he wants it to be, but I really think this suits him and if we look back, he's been heading this way a long time.
