Man, 23, injured in S. Baltimore shooting in apparent accident 11:06 a.m. EDT, April 1, 2010 A 23-year-old man was shot in the rear torso Wednesday night in South Baltimore in what city police initially called an apparent accident. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he underwent successful surgery, police said Thursday. Officers responded about 10 p.m. to a call for shots fired in the 900 block of S. Hanover St., in the Sharp-Leadenhall neighborhood, and found the wounded man sitting on the steps of a house. An officer at the scene Wednesday night said the shooting could have been self-inflicted, occurring when the man tried to place a gun in his rear waistband. |
