I sold my gun to a friend, did the paperwork on the 20th of Feb, and nothing in the mail yet. I read the back and i guess i could give it to him. But i was told by the Trooper that the original form would come back and i would sign it along with the buyer and then i could give him the handgun!
Is this info correct? And is there a number i can call and ask what's going on. |

I've transferred 6 pistols at the Barrack since this past summer. Each time the Desk Sgt has said, you have to wait 7 days and you can tranfer it on the 8th day. If the paperwork comes back "disapproved" and you made the transfer then they will be have to come and get it.
You make you want of it. If i know the buyer/trader then I'm ok on the 8th day. Most guys I know have collectors status so I know they're good. if its a stranger then no way. |

Well im pretty sure he's gtg, we work together and both got CCW, and because of the nature of our work if something bad happens we would not be working at the same place right away. |

considering i'm going on my 5th month waiting for my collector paperwork to come back, i'd say 2 weeks is nothing to worry about. Well there's a difference between the two, with all due respect. But yes i understand what you mean. The bottom line is MSP is not doing their job and there's pretty much nothing we can do about it... |

There are no provisions in the law for the "collector" paperwork time frame like there is for the "7 day waiting period". |
