When I was picking up a lower a few weeks ago, I asked the dealer if I could bring in my HBAR upper and attach it to make it cash and carry. His response was no, it has to be a completed rifle with HBAR stamped by the manufacturer. So my guess is that if does not say HBAR on the lower, you can not do a FTF. |
| gunsnmoses, the answer would depend on pre or post ban, nomenclature on lower, grey or black finish, what kind of stock, FCG pin diameter, sear block, slab sided or A2 type "mag fence", etc. In the end it is worth what someone will pay for it. If you post in the AR section here as well as look in the EE you should get a decent idea what it's worth. |

Apologies, I thought I emptied my messages! DOH! I'm not sure I want to sell it, I was trying to figure out how much it's worth in MD vs in GA. I figure if I can sell it here to someone who would appreciate not needing all the paperwork, and then come out ahead when I buy a new lower in GA that would be nice. The finish is definitely grey (upper is black Stag) Label is "MATCH TARGET (TM) COMPETITION HBAR" don't know if it's preban - serial is CCH001xxx if that helps if has the sear block behind the trigger group if MD cares http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/jinva/colthbarblur.jpg |
| Make sure whoever you sell that lower to gets the original "half moon" bolt. If you try to use a regular bolt you have to remove the sear block or there's going to be an issue. Regardless, you'd make more money on that lower in Maryland than Georgia. Good luck with the move and congrats. |
Unless it is a copy of an HBAR - then it should be legal just as copies of "assault weapons" by other manufacturers are also considered "assault weapons". PA allows them. |
