| I'm interested in finding out how the crowds have been during the week. Thanks. |
| I'm glad they're re-opened, but I generall stop going around October though January. I always went on Friday mornings and found they got pretty crowded around this time of year. Haven't been up there since they re-opened but a friend of mine said the place is packed on Saturdays. |
It is because Hap Baker is full of Fudds. "You don't need a 30 round mag for hunting, why else would you need them?"

I was there with an AR and a Beta-C a few years back and was asked to leave because I had no other mags with me. It was by the young guy with the glasses and the high polish stainless Springfield Armory GI model on his hip. When asked why I was to leave he said "out of respect for the victims of the DC sniper". I haven't been back since. Edited for spelling. |
Is that the guy with a beard also? Sort of a thin, short guy? When you were asked to leave, did you ask for your money back? I would have, I'm curious if they would give it back. I've been there I think twice, didn't really care for either experience. I wouldn't have gone back after the first time except that I was taking two semi-new shooters and needed someplace close that wasn't too expensive. There was a guy there that told me I needed to have 3 seconds between shots on the pistol range after he heard me shooting a .22 pistol about a shot per second for a mag. If I were just spraying, I could understand, but if you looked at my target, you could tell I wasn't just screwing around. The previously mentioned guy also tried to belittle me when "checking" my pistols when I first arrived, especially when he saw I had empty mags in them. He said unless I was a LEO, I couldn't have empty mags in my pistols. I'm originally from PA, I'd never heard of that nonsense. |
No 30 rounders Thats F-in ridiculous! Ive went there before with 30 rounders and nothing was said,I wonder if they would let you slide if you flashed a .mil ID and told them you only have issued mags. I probably wont be going there much anyway, beings I got 2 buddys with property in VA and WV with over 20 acres.

i was there just before it burned. shot ar only, 30 rounders were no prob then. they will tell you to slow your rate of fire though. ![]() delmarva is fun,but not very organized. they need to install a light and buzzer with a timer. so people can change targets. i saw some attitude once when i asked for a cold line. |
| Finally got out to Hap Baker today. First time since the fire. Except for being cleaner the place hasen't changed much. Not that I know enough about ranges and what improvements if any could have been made. Some people can complain but we had a good time. I went thru about 300rds in my AR and my buddy did about the same in his AK. I can understand the no rapid fire rule to an extent. Maybe they could have one 30 minute session twice a day where you could do rapid fire. All lanes were in use the whole time I was there and at one point there were people waiting. |
