There is a requirement that the shooting club maintain 2/3rds military/guv members, and the other 1/3rd can be civilians. This can make it difficult to get in at times. The custom is that, as a civilian, you would search out a couple Marines and get them to "sponsor" you as an "Associate Member". In return for their sponsorship, you'd pay their dues for the first year along with your's. This allows you to join and maintains the 2:1 ratio, gets a couple mil guys in free and everyone is happy. At this time, we have plenty of mil/guv members and there are currently openings for about 20 new civvies/Associates, w/o the requiremnent that you hunt down and pay for a couple Marines. This is a re-post of what Steve (one of the better ROs) had announced at another board:
If you like long range shooting, and/or live near QMCB, this is a great opportunity to access some very nice ranges. We shoot to 1,000/1,030 on Range 4, which goes back in 100 yard increments from 100. We also shoot Range 305, which is a 500-600 yard flat range that allows targets to be placed at random distances. Good for UKD exercises and for AR-15 type sghooting. There are trap, skeet and pistol ranges available as well. I'll answer any questions that I can, but if you are interested, go poke around the site and see what's there. www.quanticoshootingclub.com/ You can D/L an application here:www.quanticoshootingclub.com/downloads/qsc_application-associate.pdf |
