center industries are the pretty much gold standard
okay mags are pretty good too.

i have had a few problems with lebell ( sp ? ) mags

you will probably be able to find used center mags for around 10 bucks, and someone will have the mags that 44mag.com for about 14 even thou they only cost 9 something delivered

if you get older mags just pick up some green followers for about 1.50 each

Did you read the Magazine FAQ in the Magazine section of the AR forums?  Some really good info there on what is good and bad.  Stick with the USGI contractors.

First check for material.  Steel is automatically rejecteced unless 1) Its a genuine HK magazines (rare and expensive) or 2) It's a 6.8 SPC from PRI or CProducts (not likely at a gunshow and not what you need).

Nexxt I check the floorplate.  If it's blank than I automatically won't buy it as it's either a junk magazine (aka USA or Promag brands) or sombody 'refurbished' it making it suspect.  While your looking at the bottom make sure all 4 of the tabs that hold the floorplate are present and in good condition.  Reject any magazines that does not have 4 good tabs OR has duct tape covering them up (some people used duct tape to hold the floorplates in after they broke them while removing the floorplate to install green followers or to clean the mag).

After that look at the feed lips if it's a used magazine - look for any cracks or bend - reject if either are present or if they look particularly worn or spread apart (bring a known good magazine to compare them to - be sure you good magazine is well marked as yours).

Green followers are prefered for USGI 30s (odds are gunshow magazines won't have magpul followers), but not deal breakers.

For a used magazine the amount of finish left is not important.  Just make sure the body is free of dents and that all the welds are present along the seams (IIRC there should be at least 6 - make sure there are no broken welds either).

$12-$15 is about the most you should pay for NEW-IN-WRAP with green followers from USGI contractors.  You can buy them for that or less at CProducts or 44Mag.com if you live in a free state (or just want 20 rounders).

I should point out I just bought some new-in-wrap curved 20 rounders (basically cut down 30s) from Cproducts.com for $9.95 each and they had Grey Magpul followers already installed.  I would not pay too much more for the 'convienence' of buying it in person at a gunshow.

Stay with USGI mags.

I wouldn't pay a penny over $14 per mag for new in wrapper, and would only pay that if they were right in front of me.  They can be had here from the EE for less usually.
