I've gotten my membership now how do I get my avatar and sig working?  I know a few people are team members too.

Click "PHOTO SERVER" in the toolbar at the top of the page to open the photo server home page:

Click "Login" in the upper right corner of the photo server home page:

Enter your login information and click "Log In":

Click the link to the Avatar Picture upload page:

Hit the "Browse" button to select your avatar picture file (which you have already prepared and stored on your local hard drive), or enter the path and file name directly, then press "Upload and Save":

Make a post and your new avatar should show up.  Sometimes there seems to be a bit of a delay, and you might need to refresh your browser.

The avatar should be 80 pixels wide by 60 pixels high, and less than 12 KBytes in size.  If you can't or don't know how to resize a picture to make it into an avatar, just ask.

Click "EDIT PROFILE" in the toolbar at the top of the page:

Scroll towards the bottom, enter your Forum Title (shows above your avatar) and Signature (shows below your posts), then press "Save":

Make a new post, and your signature and forum title will show up.

I'd say "You're welcome," but looking at the avatar you posted, now I regret helping.

I must be computer challenged. Followed the directions. Got to the Photo Server Log On part. I entered my info and got an error message. I double checked my Name and Password and checked the instructions again, but still have an error message. Any suggestions?

Did you sign up for a team membership?  If not you won't be able to put up an avatar.  Still haven't changed mine yet (looking for the right pic).

Bitterspleaf is correct.  You need to pony up at least $20 for a bronze team membership if you want to display an avatar:

Better stop it or you guys will get me in trouble.

I do appreciate your kind words, though.

What I want to know is..why is zrxc77 still using the generic team avatar?
2/15/2005 8:11:32 AM EDT
[#20]
Because he is a generic kind of guy?
Because he can't follow directions, even the illustrated kind?
Because the photo server is misbehaving right now and even if he wanted to change it, he couldn't?

Who knows?

I'll take answer C Alex. The photoserver issues are on Gb's very long list of things to do.
