I had 2 interesting experiences recently.
1) I met a 91 yr old gentlemen who made 4 beach landings in the pacific. we had a vey brief but interesting conversation which nearly left him in tears. To this day the men he left on the islands still haunt him. 2) I was at the blaine airshow and saw an old timer slowly climb into the dual seat P51. As we backed away from the plane when she started up I happened to be standing next to the man's son. Apparently he had flown P51s in the war and "wanted one last ride." Very cool to see.
