I just dropped my application (Hennepin county) today and they said up to 30 days until I get it. Realistically how long does it take? I'm taking a trip to Michigan at the end of August and my Utah permit isn't recognized there

Hennepin Co. Will take your money in an instant, but they will take every one of those 30 days to get it to you. Everyone that I know, that's in Hennepin (along with me), has waited at least the full 30 days.. Yep. You'll be lucky to get it on the 30th day. They tend to mail them on the 30th day, since that's the law. |

One more reason to not live in Hennepin County.
A coworker of mine was told that just the purchase permit is $100, at least inside the confines of Minneapolis. He then went for his carry permit, which cost him ~$200 and good for five years instead of $100 each year. Since then he moved to somewhere in Dakota County, but Henneppin County still took 30 days to send back his newly updated permit. |

They cant charge for the permit to purchase, carry permits cannot exceed $100, and if you update your address, your old permit is still good. All ccw permits are good 5 years, permit to purchase is good for 1 Hennepin and Ramsey are day 30 mailers |
Myself and two other friends dropped off our apps at the Ramsey Co. sheriffs office and we were all told that "we have 30 days to process this but it they've been sending them out sooner than that." My friends got theirs on day 29 and I got mine on day 26. I suppose that is less than 30 days. Check your permit when you get it. They spelled my name wrong and I had to go get a replacement. |

UPDATE: McLeod took 9 days. VERY IMPRESSED!!! When I applied, it sure sounded like they were going to utilize the full 30 day stall session... I'm happy enough! The McLeod sheriff is extremely pro 2A. I have had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions. He signed my form 1 for me the day I brought it in too. I had my permit to carry within a week. |

Yeah, that's what I've been hearing lately too. Makes me feel a bit better about carrying in McLeod. I just got a uneasy feeling when I applied when the one women who I dealt with assured me it'd be 30 days. I did have to pleasure to talk with the Chief Deputy when I applied for my Permit to Purchase. I can't say anything bad about any of my dealings with the Sheriff's office. Every time I go in for an application they have been prompt! |

Hopefully Washington County is the same way. |

anyone submitted in Winona County? I need to reapply and am out of state just across the river from Winona will probably do it there if they are OK to deal with . When i first got it i lived in St.Louis county and it took 8 days (2007). I dropped it off in Hibbing, but the paperwork came back from Duluth and each of my address updates out of state were done through the Duluth S.O.
