Beware of some certain coin dealers...

The two I've gone to are rip-off artists. They'll try to inform you that you're an idiot, and that your coins are not worth NEARLY as much as you might think they are, and they'll try as hard as possible to convince you it's not even worth 40% below Silver spot value.

They're in it to make a profit, and they'll lie right to your face in hopes that you're gullible so they can make a larger profit margin.

Then when you 'don't buy in' to their lies, standing firm on facts and market values, they'll try a more 'average low-ball value' (about 10% below spot) and if you don't accept those terms, they'll tell you to leave. I don't know of a single coin dealer in the cities that will give you anything close to 5% below spot.

Let your phone/fingers do the walking - call the coin dealers first, and talk with them about it.

Stay away from Seven Star Enterprises. They're quite... out of

When Silver was about $9/oz, and selling on average @ $10/oz, they wanted $17/oz for silver eagles... Ummmmm.... NO!

If you're selling, I'd recommend TRYING to sell it online first - THEN try the coin dealers. If you're BUYING - online is the only way. www.APMEX.com or sometimes Northwest Territorial Mint has decent deals.

I'm sure that some of the local members may be happy to take them off your hands for a fair price...[ahem]

you also may have better luck thru k-bid or some other auction place most coin dealers will not give close to one half of face value

To tell you the truth, you would probably do the best on a local ftf deal for cash. I'm guessing there are more than just a few silver & gold hoarders on this board.
