Lakeville checking in.
Low volume at 7:45am, but poll worker said high traffic at 7am poll opening. I had no problems, but ballot taker said machine had been acting up early when scanning ballots. |
|
I voted in plymouth this morning. When I picked up my ballot, it was number 260-something. When I dropped it off, it was the 231st to have been scanned. There were only four people behind me still at the booths. Think they had that many botched ballots that early in the day? |

Could be, or it could be people needing new ballots that they mismarked, or some could have been for testing in the morning, or maybe there was more than one table handing out ballots? Way to pay attention though. I wish I would have thought to check those numbers. |

My understanding is that ballot number does not mean much, scan number is the real indicator of voting. Most voting places have several different ballots due to school district lines, city limits and non city limits ect.... My voting place had 3 different ballots due to different school districts. That or they had a lot of people screw up the markings and had to refill out the ballot. |

ugh ... based on what?
Looks like dayton will win According to Fox, dayton is 52% with 12% reporting. It also looks like all house elections are going to incumbents. Do remember, Minneapolis and St. Paul report first. From what I see thus far and what some commentators have mentioned, those are the "usual suspects". voter turnout in those areas are "mixed". Percentages are slightly BETTER than in 2008 for (R) in those districts. ALOT of reporting still to do. This is about where things were last time round. Emmer is beginning to gain ground now. (only down by 12% at 20% reporting (839 of 4136). There is still over 300K votes still to be counted from the looks of it. |
|
It does appear that Horner might succeed in taking votes away from the Emmer campaign.
Dayton appears to have "shot his wad" already and his % keeps dropping. Time will tell if Emmer can make up the difference in the rest of the state. (I am hopeful, but, VERY cautiously optimistic) |

Time will tell if Emmer can make up the difference in the rest of the state. (I am hopeful, but, VERY cautiously optimistic) dude... have you drove out of town lately, like way up north? i was so disgusted on my trip out of town a few weeks ago, so many Dayton signs in the Cities. probably a little bit more dayton signs than emmer signs. not by much. but i was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO relieved when i got out of the cities, the farther north i got, it was ALL emmer signs and NO dayton signs. we have to cross our fingers, because the Left has made voter fraud a work of art. its sickening that they are so desperate to tow the party line that they would try to help this guy win. fucking really? mark dayton? trust fund, bug eyed, anti-depressant medication, alcoholic, and the worst senator ever ? i dont know whether to laugh at the Dems, or feel sorry for them that that is the best they can do. and Norseman- im not directing this post at you, just quoted your post. dont want you to think im picking on you or anything |
|
40.93% (1693 of 4136) as of 10:32pm
EMMER 63806539.54 DAYTON 76038647.13 7.59% down and steadily moving up. I guess the "good" news is that Horner is not making any more headway in the outlying areas. About 1.5M votes still to count, assuming all "registered" voters show up to cast a ballot. |
|
42.24% (1747 of 4136) as of 10:50pm
EMMER 646709 39.61% DAYTON 768476 47.06% 7.45% down still... Needs to start picking up at a faster rate for him to win. GOP is leading in 35 MN Senate seats, with a tiny lead in another seat. This could be the "silver lining" for Minnesota. |

DAYTON: (stares into distance, idly spinning nut on bolt) Oh. MURPHY: The House Republicans have blocked your budget proposal. DAYTON: (looks up from nut and bolt, looks wordlessly toward Murphy without really focusing) MURPHY: Sir, this is a bit of a political emergency. (Murphy falls instantly silent) The House Republicans have blocked your budget proposal, "Governor” (HATCH coughs theatrically as he makes the scare quotes with his fingers in the air; a little glob of spittle flies through the air and lands on…) Dayton. First things first; the Republicans should never have taken the House or Senate back. We know whose fault that is, don’t we? (Hatch turns to Ritchie, who visibly flinches) HATCH: Assume the position. (Richie falls limply to his knees) HATCH: Lori! (Swanson places a ball gag in Richie’s mouth, ties it securely around Richie’s face, and pushes him, face down, to the ground. Swanson then stands on Richie’s back) HATCH: With that out of the way – this is an emergency, "Governor”. Even the DFLers that survived last November are rebelling, calling your tax bill "suicide”, and still we are six billion dollars short… TOM DOOHER: (the head of the Minnesota Teachers’ Union enters, speaking) That’s Nine Billion, Governor (he says, looking at Hatch). HATCH: Right, nine billion dollars short. JAVIER MORILLO: (representative of SEIU enters, speaking) ELEVEN billion, Governor HATCH: Right, eleven billion dollars short… (Hatch, Murphy and the rest stare at the door for a moment before continuing) …for now. We need to come up with a plan, and we need it NOW. (He gestures at Swanson, who grinds a stiletto heel in the small of Richie’s back, as Richie squirms in pain) DAYTON: We shall… (twirls nut) MURPHY: Sir? DAYTON: …sell another Renoir. HATCH: Good idea, sir, but a Renoir is worth a few million; we would need about a thousand of them… CARDINAL: Actually, five thousand five hundred of them at current sale prices HATCH: (spins on heels, pulling a dagger from under his jacket, screams hysterically) SHUT UP! IF I WANT YOUR OPINION I WILL GRANT YOU THE RIGHT TO HAVE ONE!. (Cardinal flinches) I WILL RIP OFF YOUR HEAD AND CRAP DOWN YOUR THROAT. DO YOU READ ME? (Cardinal nods, meekly) HATCH: Yes, sir, five thousand-odd Renoirs to close the budget gap… DOOHER: Er, that’s gonna be six thousand. HATCH: Six thousand Renoirs to close the gap. DAYTON: (Nods, twirling the nut on the bolt) HATCH: Sooooo, we need a political solution. Marty! (John Marty snaps to attention) Throw a party for the GOP caucuses in both chambers. Open bar! And then have the Highway Patrol waiting for them! We’ll catch ‘em all driving drunk! Hah! SWANSON: Already tried that, sir. Didn’t work. DAYTON: (idly spins nut on the bolt as head bobbles idly back and forth) HATCH: (pounds hand on Dayton’s desk) DAMMIT! Maybe we should get photoshopped pictures of all of them in a bathroom stall at the airport. KAHN: Seems a bit implausible, sir. DAYTON: (puts bare right foot up on the desk) My toenail needs painting. Esme? MURPHY: No, sir, not now… DAYTON: Oooh. Then I’ll get Keri Miller to do it. MURPHY: (sighs). I’ll put in a call, sir. But we have to figure out this eleven-billion dollar gap… DOOHER: Thirteen billion dollars. MURPHY: …this thirteen billion dollar gap first, sir. DAYTON: (nut falls off bolt). (Room falls silent) DAYTON: Close the office. I’m going to Vail. HATCH: "Governor” (makes scare quotes with fingers), we can’t "close the office” (makes scare quotes with fingers). You have to "Make a decision” (makes scare quotes with fingers). DAYTON: (Puts head down on desk) HATCH: Oh, christ. OK, get him outta here. (Marty and Kahn carry Dayton from room as Hatch continues with scarcely a pause). OK, Murphy? Start the new ad campaign; "Minnesota – where everybody’s rich!” Bill it to Alita. Again. And Tom? (Rukavina snaps to attention) Submit a bill that’ll increase taxes on "the rich” to 15%. Lori? Put out a release saying we’re investigating – er, you’re investigating Majority Leader Zellers for witchcraft. Let’s move, people! (Group exits, leaving Richie face-down on the floor, whimpering) AUTHOR’S NOTE: Now, I believe, as I have since May, that Tom Emmer is going to win by three. But just in case people are undecided, the above qualifies as "fiction” only because it hasn’t happened yet. |

43.06% (1781 of 4136) as of 11:04pm
EMMER 651169 39.65% DAYTON 772199 47.02% Inches up to only being down by 7.37% and Horner is starting to fall back as well. (WHEW!!!) 35 MN senate seats are still in GOP hands at this point and very likely another. And for better news... CRAVAACK 47.12% OBERSTAR 47.56% With 82% of precincts still to report in that district... |
|
48.24% (1995 of 4136) as of 11:50pm
EMMER 700221 40.27% DAYTON 807142 46.42% Down by only 6.15% with still over 1M outstanding ballots... Folks, this is going to go down to the wire... Emmer is getting some wind behind his sails. Ff he keeps this up, he could pull it off. Must win by 1.5% to make DFL theft impossible. And some good news to boot... CRAVAACK has a very slight lead over OBERSTAR!!! |
|
50.39% (2084 of 4136) as of 12:06am
EMMER 564991 41.72% DAYTON 608715 44.94% Much better... only 3.22% down and moving along nicely as the out state precincts report in. Still about 1M oustandting, or so. Cravaack is still ahead by 40 votes... wish it was larger so that Oberstar can't cheat it away. About 51% reported in already. Going to bed... Emmer is on the right track and making up some good ground and the MN Senate is looking more like it will go GOP. (just barely... 34 with a couple of those by a nose) |

Oh, I just saw this as well...
Vote tallys in Hennepin are WAY off... by nearly 400,000!!! Elections officials in Hennepin County are working to resolve an error that pushed their vote totals too high. The county at one point Tuesday night reported that more than 880,000 people had cast ballots there. That compares with about 492,000 in the 2006 gubernatorial race. Hennepin County Elections Manager Rachel Smith told Minnesota Public Radio News that officials were retabulating the results. Smith says it wasn't immediately certain what caused the error, but that it appeared to be related to the loading of absentee ballots. Smith told The Associated Press the discrepancy was discovered about 10:15 p.m., and that things had been looking good as of 9:30 p.m. |
|
KSTP has slightly different/updated numbers.
http://www.kstp.com/kstpimages/election/2010/html/race5000.shtml Shows Emmer down by only 1% (or about 29K votes) and there are still over 300,000 votes outstanding, from the looks of it. Emmer is collecting 5 votes for every 4 that Dayton gets from out state. (according to the analysts) That means that he still has time to do it.. but, not much. |

Putting things in perspective, the GOP controls both houses of the MN legislature, so even if Dayton wins he's a castrato. He has won for sure. There is no way a republican will pick up seats during a recount when george soros is doing the counting. the split according to 100.3KTLK just now says its only 1/2 a percent, so it WILL go to a recount. 400,000 votes being "off" in hennepin county is HUGE... and i know it doesnt matter who cast the vote, but who counts the vote... but im holding out hope that the citizens of MN wont sit back and watch another Al Franken happen. i know there are alot of idiots and people with their hands out... but this time there's no secret of what they do. |
