Hello, I just moved here from Florida, (dont laugh too hard). I live near Buffalo, im told Minnesota does NOT share reciprocity with Florida concerning my CCW permit.
Where is the closest place to obtain a Minnesota CCW permit and how many hoops do i have to jump through?
Thank You!

You will have to take a class from a Minnesota approved instructor (usually in the $100 range). Once you get your certificate of completion, take a copy of it and a copy of your driver's licence down to your local sheriff's office and apply. Here is a link that includes some information and the pdf of the application:  http://www.dps.state.mn.us/bca/CJIS/Documents/CarryPermit/PermittoCarry.html

Application fee is usually $100.

Welcome to Minnesota

I'm not laughing...I'm crying for you!  Texas transplant myself.  Don't ask...

I think most of the Gander Mountain stores have bulletin boards that list local CCW classes, too.  Maybe the Cabelas in Rogers?  I got mine by calling a few local gunstores and asking for recommendations.

MN, despite the political climate, is actually pretty easy (now) to secure a CCW.

Welcome friend!

Check your local gas station's bulletin/business-card board...
Around me, it's not uncommon to find the cards of 5 different instructors.

This place is a little farther from you, but I highly trust some of their instructors since some are Police Officers and you will get solid information...........as well as its cheaper

Gee, you can't go wrong with Defensive Edge.  Otherwise, the Bill's Gun range class is good on knowledge for what it seriously lacks in practical range time.

+1000 for this...  I'd go with Defensive Edge, and then make sure you keep up your Florida Permit as a 'Non-Resident' and then you'll still have Reciprocity with all those other states!

skir, Welcome to "Da Freezer", ya shuure u betcha.

Defensive Edge is not your standard carry class. It's more of a practical handgun class. 2 hours classroom then on to the range for 5-6 hours and 350 rounds. Good basics whether your a novice or seasoned shooter. No pressure, take your time, hands on help....oh and fun.
