[ARCHIVED THREAD] - barrel work

Can anyone recommend to me a smith or fellow Arf.comer to drill a barrel for and install a standard A2 FSB on an ar15 barrel? I've got two or three to do and no drill press.

Are these taper pinned A2 front sites?

If you have the drill and taper reamer and pins I could do it.

if the A2 font sites don't have holes drilled in them, I could probably put set screws in them so you could just set screw them to the barrels.

Hey John,

Unfortunately, I dont have a drill or reamer. How do the set screws hold up compared to the pins?

They wouldn't be as solid as pins but many gas blocks are attached with screws. Thats how I do all my custom ones.
You'll also have to make sure theres enough meat under there for screws, I know under the bayonet lug there plenty of meat but I haven't measured how much there is under the sling mount.
