All,

I am in need of a (2) sets of fingerprint cards to go along with my form 1, is there a better deal out there than going down to the Sheriff's office? (Ramsey County)

They want $15 per set, which I thought was a touch on the high side.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

call a few people who have CCW classes, they might be willing to sell you a set but iirc they usually always cost more than the paper they are printed on...

I have a couple of spare ATF Finger Print cards

send me a IM, you will need the ATF card, the FBI and NICS Cards will not work

Would this be the FD-258 fingerprint card?  Aren't they free from the ATF???

When I got mine from Washington County, they asked me how many copies I wanted for my $15, they printed me 6 copies

You can get them free from the ATF, at least about a year ago they were free.

I thought you had to get them from ATF for a form 1, and yes they are free. They have an online order center for forms.

ETA - Are you referring to a service fee for printing you...?

Sorry for not being clear.

Yes, the $15 a set was the price I was told to have the Ramsey county sheriff do the printing.  They didn't specify if any of that cost was for the cards themselves.

I am going to be calling the Local ATF office in the AM to inquire as to the ability to pick up some blank ATF specific cards, I'll post back what I find out.

Thanks for everyone's input and help.

Ok, I just talked to the local ATF office and the guy I talked to was pretty helpful.  He was saying that the info in the ORI colum tells the ATF how the cards are routed and which dept pays for the processing, etc...

He wasn't really aware of any differences between cards, but he did say that all of the cards they have down at their office are already stamped with the information from that office.  So it sounds like cards picked up in St Paul will not have the correct info needed regarding the WV Branch.  I'm going to stop down this afternoon to try and pick up a set so I can see what they look like, and compare it to what the sheriff might have.

Thanks again for the insight DPMMN, I'll fill in what I find out.

Just get them here:

I think you still need the citizenship form(s) as well.

Ok, so what I found out after a lot of running around was something that most everyone probably already knows.

The local ATF branch office here in St Paul is pretty worthless.  Bottom line, they don't have or won't give out the fingerprint cards.

I jumped on that link and ordered some up; we'll see how long that they take to show up.

Appreciate all the help and information.
