I can't believe you had the Miculek Brake put on the Grail.  It will be a shame when you come to class and we have to cut that thing off...

Negative, not a Michulek brake, Cooley brake, and it's Sully installed, tested and approved.

Ask Walker40 about it

Nice pic, glad to see your got your Grail.  Had a chance to use it yet?  What sort of sling, if any, is it going to wear?

Yep, I did get a chance to shoot it.  I went to Bills North (they have a 50 yard range) and zeroed it.  I did a little testing shooting offhand.  I had a 8.5x11" piece of paper at 25 yards, and was doing double taps at that target.  The crosshairs just didn't move.  I was able to put 2 rounds within a couple inches doing doubles.  It's light too.  Sully said he shaved some weight off and said it may be as much as 1/2#.  I don't have an older Grail to compare it to, but it's lighter than my Commander (the one above it) and it's actually tail heavy.  If you hold the gun only by the front of the magwell, the back of the rifle is heavier.  It's a dream to shoot offhand.

As for the sling, initially it probably won't get one.  For 3 gunning, they're kind of in the way and I usually pull mine off my other rifles.  If/when I take a class with it, it'll probably get something similar to the sling on the other two rifles, which is the Specter Gear SOP sling.  I'll have to figure out how to attach the front of the sling, but I really like that sling setup.

Thanks for the report!

As far as the brake goes, I will let Lt. Walker stand next to you on line next summer!
