I have to respect the two of you and your patience for actually going into that jungle and taking pics.  I become so enraged by those animals that I would probably start socking them in the face.

On another note.  I did see some footage on the news of a bunch of those socialist retards laying down on the on ramp to 94 or something along those lines.  Now if you were to say, not see them, and just plowed right over them.  Would that be written off as them committing suicide?  I mean, your laying in a spot that large trucks use on a quite regular basis and they don't exactly stop on a dime.

Some of the signs and disrespect to the flag made me ill.

With as hot and humid as it was, it sure did stink after awhile.

Just came through MSP. Noticeable increase in security. Many, Many more TSA and a few more cops, one with a 11.5" AR with an Aimpoint and surefire. Cops were carrying lots of flexcuffs. Stopped by the 10-8. About 20 K-9 cops there from Detroit, Huston, San Antonio, Louisville and other far places. They were all wearing mesh "federal officer" black vests over their police blues. Many different sidearm types.

Saw F-15s landing, probably MN Guard.

Live1978 and myself are headed to the Rage Against The Machine concert tonight.  Wish us luck trying to blend in with the commies, socialists, and anarchists...

Any advice on how to get in & out unnoticed and safe?  They'll be wanding for weapons at the doors, so no tucking away Fox 5.3, a pocketknife, or my 1911...

If you can ignore the Karl Marx and Che supporters, and not say shit to the flag burners you should be fine.

Top off the tank before you get there, and get on the highway (any highway) as quickly as possible when you leave the concert.

You'll be fine.

Are you nuts?

Quite honestly you are asking for trouble, do you have any idea what they are doing to prepair for this concert? You saw what happened when they didnt let them play at the capitol last night.

Agreed.  I used to work at First Ave. doing security in the mosh pit (1995) and you wouldn't find me within 10 miles of that show.  It's like going to a party in Afghanistan where you are the only non-Taliban there.  You will not blend, dude.

A couple pics of the RATM Concert...  I went mostly because I think Tom Morello is an grossly underrated, phenomenal technical guitarist whose soloing skills go largely untapped in some of his other musical endeavors.  His performance was stellar - and he's one of those artists whose live solos are even better than the studio recordings.

The only things disliked were:
Anti-Flag, the POS opener band which sucked beyond my ability to critique it adequately.
All the Anti-War / Anti-US propaganda spouted by every moron there.
The Zapatista and Former USSR Communist propaganda advocates all over passing out fliers and talking about peace, love, socialism, 'free' healthcare & bennies , and other bullsh!t.  "Voz De La Revolucion!"

MPLS PD started out by surrounding the entire Target Center with police in riot gear as a pre-event show of force...  The back & sides of the Target Center had more officers than directly out in front where their presence was known, but not meant to be too intimidating.

I thought this photo of their Tactical Polaris QRF Vehicle was somewhat humorous...

Though they're often overlooked, these can be some FUN little toys (John Deere Gators, Kawasaki Mules, & Yamahas mostly) ...  I worked with these kinds of vehicles at my past cemetery job.  Most have a throttle restrictor to limit them to 18 to 35 MPH depending on manufacturer.  When the governor is bypassed/disabled, they often have no problems going 35 to 55 MPH carrying 2 adults and a variety of tools in the rear cargo bed.  Bypassing the governors, while fun, can put additional wear on their small aluminum engine blocks and cylinders - decreasing their lifespan.

The whole concert was basically meant to be a protester's pep rally of sorts.  Meaning to get the youth rev'd up for protesting and meant to potentially incite rioting...  Here's their lovely lighting display over the stage:

In a sea full of hippies all yapping and spouting their socialist rhetoric, I was growing dumber by the minute :

Some of the protesters who were out in St Paul all day were a little 'Ripe' - it smelled at times:

The people watching was hilarious at times too!  I learned a lot of lessons there last night!

But from a musical perspective, the concert was great!

Between each song there were speeches about activism, and anger towards established government...  Toward the end of the show before the last 1-2 songs we took off around the time of the 'Call to Riot' speeches and final song.  When sneaking out via the skyway MPD bike officers in the skyway asked us how much longer until the SHTF, and asked if the guys inside were getting riled up (which they were).

We noticed the police presence more than TRIPLED by the time the concert got out, and we weren't the only ones wanting to duck out early before things got messy!  In the end, there was only a limited, mostly peaceful protest outside for an hour or so which drifted a couple blocks away from the Target Center, and upon failure to disperse, MPD stepped in to stop things.  I was surprised to hear there were only 102 arrests - mostly misdemeanors, and 2 gross misdemeanors.

I had a good time, and it was a fun, entertaining, suspenseful evening.

Glad to hear you made it out OK.  You were smart to leave early.

The ironic and funny thing was that Capitalism really lined the pockets of Rage Against the Machine (incorporated) at both the DNC and the RNC.  Of course, those anarchists are too busy hatin' to figure that out.  Mom and Dad will be pissed that 6 years of undergrad at your private liberal arts school just went down the drain...

Don't believe the hype!  Word.

I wished some of my pics turned out better I will try to get them up this weekend. I didnt get home till 0200 this morning. what was an awsome display by the police was that they funneled the groupe down 7th ST then sent a few batallions up 8th St gave the crowd one oppertunity to dispurse and when they didnt they arrested everyone on 2nd AVE between 7th and 8th.

The highlight of my night was as the had eveyone face down on 2nd AVE these two dirty kids held a defaced American Flag upside down in the middle of 7th ST near where they had the arrested and started chanting "these are our streets." The mounted Police gave the a chemical shower reminding them in fact that at that very moment the streets belonged to them. I have some pics of the male.

You hit the nail right on the head.  They bitch about "the man" ,capitalism ,and corporations.  Are they forgetting who promotes their records and gets them airtime on the radio?  Its funny how all their beliefs and values go out the door once it comes to money, which they claim they so greatly despise.  The sad part is that most of those protesters are down there because they can't think for themselves and actually believe the bile that bands like rage and anti-flag are spewing out.

The ironic thing is, if it was the government of their choice in control in this situation, they all probably would have been lined up and shot.

Yeah, Anti-Flag wasn't too good, but it was hilarious watching all the hippies trying to jump the fences and getting hauled out of there in choke-holds and getting a beat-down.

The people-watching was incredibly hilarious!

Me and a friend witnessed all of this unfold as well.  I bet we were probably within feet of each other much of that time.  My friend got some decent pics, I'll try and post them up soon.
