Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D JOB DESCRIPTION ATK Commercial Products, a division of ATK is a leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ammunition and shooting accessories. This position will be located in our Anoka, MN facility and will report to the Sr Mgr, Design Engineering—Accessories. This position will focus on developing products for the Tactical, Government and Law Enforcement markets. Principle accountabilities include: • Manages projects from concept to manufacturing. Product development will be based on specifications and market requirements. • Performs research, design, and development in such areas as mechanical, electrical, and other related engineering design functions. • Designs major components or major portions of new products and functional systems to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. • Compiles and analyzes test data to determine effect of design on products, systems, or equipment. • Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use. Participates in sourcing and works with outside vendors. • Participates in marketing based events and tradeshows and represents ATK as the technical contact. • Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics • 2+ years of related product development experience • Experience with military or tactical accessory products such magazines, bipods, clothing, etc. • 3D modeling software familiarity • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Must be a self starter and results oriented.
