Hi all - I will be coming to the TwinCities sometime in July (date isn't firm yet) for business.

What are the good gun stores?
Does DPMS have a showroom?  Is it worth the stop?
Any Federal ammo tours??
Is Sportsman Guide worth visiting?
What am I missing?

Thanks!

The best stores:
Gunstop .
14704 Excelsior Blvd.
Minnetonka, MN 55345
(952) 474-0211
(952) 474-4570
This place is reloader heaven, and the other side of the biz is probably one of the best stocked gunshops in the upper midwest.

Metro Gunshops and Ranges
J&S Gun Shop, 17400 Kenwood Trl, Lakeville, MN 55044 952-435-7147 shop only
They have a lot of EBRs and high end handguns with prices to match
Ralph's Guns & Pawn. 6101 Hwy 10 NW. Anoka, MN 55303 763-427-2000
Sort of off the beaten path in Anoka some good deals
Bill's Gun Shop and Range 4080 W Broadway Ave Robbinsdale, MN (763) 533-9594
Bill's Gun Shop and Range 3621 88th Ave NE, Circle Pines, 55014 763) 792-4867
Both of the BGS locations are pretty well stocked, and they have tons of guns to rent, including MG's in advance.
Burnsville Pistol Range 14300 Ewing Ave Burnsville, MN 55306 952-890-6228 range only
Metro Gun Club 10601 Naples St NE Blaine, MN 55449(763) 786-5880 range only
Ahlman's Gun Shop 9525 W. 230th St.Morristown, MN 55052 (507) 685-4244 is south of the metro off of I35 and is sort of MN icon for gun shops

Chains
Sportsmans Warehouse has great selection of guns overall, but not that heavy into EBR with very good pricing.
12661 Riverdale Blvd NW, Coon Rapids 55448(763) 560-2000

There are stores in the out state areas Rochester/St. Cloud, Baxter, Bemidji, Duluth, and Mankato.  Gander Mtn has alot of stock but with prices out of this world.  IE used Glocks for more then you can walk into The Gunstop or SW and get!

Scheels has locations in St. Cloud/Moorhead/Mankato St Cloud is the same size as Cabelas almost!

Does DPMS have a showroooom?  Is it worth the stop? Not sure what they have at the Del Tone Club house....so not sure worth the drive to St. Cloud
Any Federal ammo tours??NOPE

RN really let his fingers do the walking!

Knowing what I know, I would only visit two stores here. Gun Stop and Sportsman's Warehouse in either

Woodbury or Andover. The Andover store would be closer if you were going to hit both stores in the same day.

SW is a store where you can hold 25 pistols in 10 minutes.

Sportsman's Guide MIGHT be worth visiting if you have a lot of time.  There is a lot of junk in there, but depending on what you are looking for you could run across a bargain.  I wouldn't go there thinking that I was going to get some real high quality stuff at a bargain, but if you wanted some camo pants, for example, you could probably find something at a good price.  Plus, you'd get to enjoy the aroma from the tannery across 494.
