are there any good surplus stores around still? I want to take a motorcycle ride and try to find some deals.

CC military surplus in Maplewood is a nice place, but prices seem high. Sportsmans Guide Warehouse is South Saint Paul/Newport Pretty nice place there too. Decent ammo prices too.

Sportsmans Guide Outlet....you can shop, but their buyers club discount does not work in the store.  The best advice is to print out online pricing to be able to get it in person.  They used to have guns, but 6 years ago they quit selling guns.  Be sure to check their hours as I think they are closed on Sundays and Mondays?

This is more of an FYI.

Harris Warehouse and Canvas used to be a good shop, but, is not a "good" surplus place anymore.

I will say that GI Joe was a decent shop, but, went OOB last fall. (I believe... got a nice set of  boots and leather gloves there)

I will not shop at SG unless a particular item I am interested were only sold through them. I did/do buy 5gal jerry cans from them, but, I have to ask for 4 or 5 just to get 1 or 2 that are of decent quality.

Its getting to the point where its not even worth the drive down there these days to pick up items in person.

There's a place called American Surplus (I think) in downtown Mpls.

I think it's on 4th street, just east of where you go under 94.  They've got some military stuff in their windows including camping and tactical gear.  I've never been in the place.

+1, you've got to print off the online price if you want them to bring something up from the warehouse to purchase!  Or you won't get the online price.
