I was given a romanian kit from a friend and am looking to build it. I know they dont just drop in like an AR, but after reading a lot they dont look too terrible either. Im looking to do this one on a 100% receiver, I want to see how much I like it before I try to get a bending jig and all that jazz. Anywhere TC area sell 100% receivers? BTW Once its together, would anyone local want to look it over to make sure I did it right so I dont blow up my first ak build? |

I got my receivers for both Romanian kits at Oak Grove Arms - $75. I really like the NoDakSpud NDS-3 receivers they sell. I've not had to 'egg' the holes on my builds or anything. They just go right together, but with all things, YMMV. I don't know of any other gunshops that stock AK receivers. -inuhbad |
Yes, you need a permit to purchase or a permit to carry. I built a Romy on an NDS-3 and it fell together ALMOST like an AR. I'm in Duluth and could give a couple pointers if you're in this neck of the woods. I don't have any of the cool tools, though. I built mine with a big hammer and some modded bolt cutters. ![]() Oak Grove Arms is great to deal with, BTW. |

You are better off getting the NoDakSpud receivers, for the price they can't be beat. For the cost of a Flat Bending Jig, Spotwelder and finding a way or source to get your "flat" heat treated wouldn't be worth it, or you would have to bend a boatload of them to recover your investment. Give Oak Grove Arms a call at 763-434-2677 They should have the receiver you need in stock, if they don't they can get them really quick |
Will do, though Im going to have to wait 57 days until im 21 to get a permit to purchase before I can do that Though I live in ND, Can I get order one and have it sent to grand forks and have an FFL xfer it to me as a rifle? |
If you are a MN resident, any dealer you buy from, regardless of what state he is in, will be required to follow MN law when transferring you a handgun or "assault weapon." MN law is that you need the permit. If you are a ND resident, then buy one there and follow ND law. |
