Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Anyone know how to rebarrel a garand?

So I'm shooting the old Winchester Garand the other day and she makes a funny sound, I get hit in the face with gasses/shavings and what not. The back of the receiver decided to blow off. Nice. I'm o.k. and have procured a new to me springfield receiver. Just wondering if any of you do it yourself types have the tools and ability to swap the barrel.

Not sure where you are at in MN but there is a very knowledgeable guy up in east grand forks that could certainly do it for you.
