Hey Payne, did you ever get your DPMS 308? Hows it shoot?

I had Dustin at DPMS put one together using ideas gleaned from www.brianenos.com.

He made me a DPMS .308 w/A3 flat top upper, 18" bull barrel, detachable front and rear sight, JP Trigger, and a flash hider.  I was unsure what muzzle brake to get as of yet.

The gun shoots way better than I thought it would.  Extremely accurate based on the groups shot at 50 yrds. using iron sights.  With a scope I am sure it will be a tack driver.  The only problem I experienced was when I loaded my 20 rd. mags. with 20 rds. for the first time.  Stiff spring caused feeding problems until I down loaded to 16 rds.  Not an equipment problem as much as a pilot error sort of thing.  I now have them loaded to 20 rds and just sitting for a couple of days.  I don't expect any further problems.  The rifle itself has been perfect for 350 rounds now.  I have had it for four days now.  I could not have asked for more from any gun company.

I brought my 16yr. old son with and he decided he would like to compete also.  Did very well with the .308 and he had never even held it in his hands prior to the shoot.  Just goes to show how easy it was to handle and shoot.  Very handy rifle with much less recoil than I thought it would have.

I think it is the sleeper rifle of the Heavy Metal division.  Now to figure out what compensator would work the best.

There is a photo of my 3-gun weapons on www.brianenos.com in the 3-gun rifle section.  I don't know how to post pictures on this site.

See ya.

Payne -

How much did your 308 set you back, if ya dont mind me asking?  Also how long was it before you were able to pick it up from the time that you put your order in?

What kind of Flip Up sights did you get?  Do they work well?  I need some for my Armalite AR-10 for the heavy metal comp too.

Take a look at this Compensator from JP...

Last of all: Do you have the link to the picture of you gear?  I don't know where to look on www.brianenos.com

Thanks for the comp. info.

The photo is on www.brianenos.com.  Then click FORUM, then scroll down to the section for 3-gun rifle - technical section.  Posted under the name "Sgt.".

Hope that helps.  Also - I don't know how to make the pictures smaller, sorry.

TruePunisher:

I forgot to answer your other questions.

I paid near $1200.00 for the weapon.  As to the time it takes get it, mine was an unusual situation in that I changed my order a couple of times.  It came with the new A3 upper.  I really like this.  The sights are sold by DPMS in their catalog.

I did see a DPMS .308 that had been worked on by JP Enterprise and it had a set of sights on it that I really liked.  I may look into them in the future.  I really don't know why as these sights work great.

You got a much better deal then my Armalite ($2000) but I am thinking about sending it in to JP to get their AR-10 Package installed with that muzzle break and what not...
