Almost every wednesday my friend & I go to do homework at the "European Grind" on Washington Ave near campus. Every week it's the same thing: Bush is just going to war for three reasons: Oil, Personal Vendetta, yadda yadda yadda. Every week I go to piss off the uneducated liberal left. Today there was a big smelly one who dropped out of college 25 years ago trying to force-feed this garbage to the impressionable minds of the ignorant. Most of the people there do not WANT to learn about current affairs and politics, and this guy who never got past his freshman year is trying to tell me that we're going in to Bagdad mainly for oil. I clearly told him that there is no oil in Bagdad (not in the city at least). He said last time we took so much oil from Iraq, yadda, yadda... I clearly pointed out that was a HUGE lie. We didn't take ANY oil from Iraq, we took oil from Kuwait as payment for saving their asses from a Genocidal Military Invasion. He says there's going to be tens of thousands of innocent civilian deaths in Bagdad when we go to war next week and "Carpet Bomb" the city. However, we will not be carpet bombing ANY city, we will be raining strategic missiles on key command posts for military installations in the city. To which he responded, "Oh, but there will be a lot of civilian deaths..." To which I replied, "It'll likely be an acceptable loss considering the many thousands of Iraqi civilians Saddam himself has killed by not providing them with aid, and if they don't want to die they can leave the city. Nobody's holding a gun to their heads now is there? Perhaps a few hundred precision guided bombs and missiles over their head, but not guns." He said the typical Liberal Drivel, "I don't want to get into this right now. I certainly didn't come to my favorite place of political refuge to be confronted by a Republican." To which I responded, "PRO-GUN, PRO-WAR, Republican." He then asked, "What're your parents?" I said, "My father's a Republican because he can think for himself, and he likes the tax breaks he gets (just reiterating the tax break stereotype to piss him off since he was red with anger at this point). My mother's a former DFL because she used to be a naive farmer's daughter, but she learned that it's better to be educated and active in politics rather than ignorant and plyable. She's also now Pro-Gun and will shoot anybody trying to take away her favorite handgun." BTW, her favorite handgun is a Beretta Brigadier Inox (in .40 S&W). She can out shoot my dad with a handgun! I love my Wednesday Morning Excursions into the heart of the ignorant Enemy. It's funny how easy it is to not only point out DemonRat's lies, but to discourage and irritate them. It's like being a Troll at DU, but they can't just kick you out or ban you. The only problem I see now is that I just REEK of cigarettes now... ![]() -inuhbad |
| Thanks for the pins again DVDTracker!!! They work as a good confusing disguise for this activity too! They wonder why I'm wearing a "Peace Pin" while promoting the War with Iraq... It's certainly fun to tell them that if they'd read it closer they'd see what it REALLY says... I love college!!! (at least I like proving liberals wrong) |

Way to keep up the fight. I saw on the news last night the guy down at the "U" with the big "Support the Troops" sign and it was a ray of hope to see how many people actually showed support. But then there's the other side... Will they ever understand and accept the concept of the threat posed to the United States? They will gladly accept our aid, education and protection, but never accept that there is a "price" to pay (the least of which would be to show some support). The beat goes on...I guess. As I've said befor, "thank you Matt." Sleepy717 |

I just saw an Air Force pilot in Annies Parlour (restaurant) in Dinkytown. From what I understand (through overhearing part of their conversation) is that he was home visiting his GF (attending college) and was going to fly out somewhere soon! I'll say a prayer for all of my friends serving the country tonight. People here don't have a clue about what's going on in the world. While in the coffee shop today an 18 year old girl said that she doesn't like to hear about politics unless it has an important bearing on her life. Our country going to war clearly isn't something she cares too much about either way... Her ignorance is her loss (and as a result, potentially our loss too). You guys do your part to piss off the leftist liberals! Thanks sleepy, after much consideration I realized that now is not the time to give up fighting. Keep on |
