If the 5K wasn't enough for you, here's a 6K coming up.  https://practiscore.com/a-run-through-history-run-n-gun-11-11-17/register

More info on the Facebook event "a run though history".

No combat class this time, so I'll happily shed about 40 pounds of gear for this one.

Lot of hills on this course- weight savings will be a benefit.

Target distance won't be very far either, I'll probably run my DoubleStar ARC with an Eotech on it.  That rifle and dot need some scratches anyway.

Still a few spots left.  This is a good test of one's self and their equipment.

Yeah, but Tony says that about all kinds of things.  Ha

Just making sure my math is right, only 30 rifle and 20 pistol shots?

I think it's around 26 pistol, but yes, about 30 rifle.

For A Run Through History, it only seems appropriate to use historical weapons, so I'm going to be carrying a M1 Rifle, M1911 pistol, 64 rounds of rifle, and likely 64 rounds of pistol.

x2 ammo should be plenty.

I'm thinking the same, but I don't have a full size 1911.  4" ok? Is that historically "close enough?"   Need a holster...

No requirements for equipment and no divisions, I'd say that's plenty close.  :)

Hey BPR, how often do you all have these events?  I missed the 5k due to family and this event is deer season opener so...  Looking forward to joining you all in the future!

I run some 3 gun matches at Rockcastle, but I'm just an interested participant for the 5K matches.

Next one I believe is scheduled for March.  It's going to be a 5K/10K.  When a runner signs up, they'll sign up for either a 5k with 5 shooting stages or a 10K with 7 stages.

This course was a lot more challenging of a run.  My thighs hate you when I'm on the stairs.

Well done!

Next time I'll run the Garand better.

I enjoyed spending the morning with my M1.  I wish I'd set my gear up to be able to load it a little quicker though.  Reloads killed my stage times on 2 and 3.

It was a challenging route.  My legs are still a little sore today.  But, it was a great way to spend a cool day with my son.

Very cool BPR!  I am really looking forward to doing one of these!

Any other pic's around?

I didn't take any, but my garand choked on stage 2 and I didn't finish in time.  Think the rounds shifted in the clip and stopped up the feeding.

Want to run it again though!
