You don't mention whether you have a valid concealed carry license. That makes a difference. All out of state licenses are valid in Ky. If you have one, you can transport them any way you want to. Ky makes no distinction between a loaded and an unloaded gun. The way our law is written, you really have to work hard to conceal a gun in a vehicle in Ky. They don't need to be cased. The authorities won't care who sees them or who is offended by them, as long as they stay in the vehicle.
If you do not have a concealed carry license it becomes a little more complicated. In that case, you could not cover them with a blanket or any other object or place them under the seat. As long as they were in the open and easily discernable as a gun, they would be OK. Behind the seat of a pick up could be trouble for you. The trunk of a car is OK in all situations, because then they are not readily accessible. Just remember that in the open is OK, hidden is bad.
