I'm looking to get some night sights installed on my m&p9c. I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Paul the gunsmith at bluegrass range in Louisville. He said he could do it for 30 bucks and since I don't have a sight pusher, and I've never done it before this sounds OK to me. I also thought of Danny's gun repair which actually isn't that fair from bluegrass but haven't heard much about him either. So any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I wouldn't hesitate to have Paul work on anything I own. He is one of the good guys.

I have a sight pusher for the M&P here in Lex. If you are near Lex, you could meet me and use mine. Should take you about 30 minutes if you are really slow.

I've never used him for actual gunsmithing, but I did ask him a technical question when he came to the concealed-weapons class to answer people's gunsmithing questions. I'd be happy to elaborate further if anyone is interested, but to sum it up his answer was not consistent with first-hand physical evidence I have observed. His answer seemed like rote (sp) memory / old-school wives tales. When I shared my observations that seemed oposite what he was telling me, he dismissed them outright rather than probing further to find the cause of the inconsistency. I'm a mechanical engineer, so I am somewhat competent with machinery.

I can't attest to his competence as a gunsmith, but he is not the inquisitive type. Very nice guy though; very eager to help.

If you are going to make a statment like that then you will need to elaborate. I  knew Paul well before he was the "gunsmith" at bluegrass and to say he Isnt mechanical is laughfable at best.

Ps I work along side mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.  Engineers on a daily basis.  And belive me the guys who read the prints and specs that these guys produce, yeah, we are not impressed.
