Greetings all! I'm headed over to Murray KY next weekend for a wedding and will have a little free time Friday and Saturday night. Any suggested spots we (my brother and I and our wives) should hit? Looking for food, entertainment or any other interesting local hot spot. Thanks in advance |
| I don't know much about murray, we visited it alot when my son was looking at colleges and it just didn't seem to have anything outstanding, really nice town, really nice people but past that just a bunch of college kids cruising around, or least thats all i saw. |

Murray isn't exactly a hotbed of activity. It has some of your standard chain restaurants and a spattering of local mom & pop joints.
The Big Apple is a local joint that serves Mexican and some Cajun food and sometimes has a band on the weekend: Big Apple Cafe You also have Patti's which is about 40 minutes or so away at the north end of LBL: Patti's Just not a whole lot going on around here in March. I live in Murray and will try to answer any other questions you might have or point you in any direction you need to go. |
| Thanks for the info, we're not really going to be in town all that long, rolling in late friday night and may have time for a drink or two, the wedding is early afternoon Saturday so the most free time will be saturday night. Leaving for NC Sunday morning. Where's a good place to get some good breakfast? |

We have the old standby Cracker Barrel if you want that sort of thing or we have a couple of mom and pop greasy spoon type places if you want that. One of them is called Martha's and is on hwy 641 just north of town http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g39693-d516805-Reviews-Martha_s_Restaurant-Murray_Kentucky.html
and the other is Renfroe's Hi-Burger on hwy121 (4th street) just south of town. Either of those make a pretty good southern breakfast. We have a Huddle House as well if you just want something quick and greasy. |
