Im a huge fan of anything mechanical & love how f/a triggers work.
I planing on putting together a "collection" of the 4 most widely used  trigger mechanisms of the late 20th century... AKM, M16a2 (3 round burst), FN FAL, HK G3

Id like to put them all on one large aluminum plate so I can see how they work "hands on style"

Anyone able to/have the proper drilling fixtures to do this?
Im thinking drill & tap the holes for larger pins (lathed down to stock pin diameter on the ends.. And use nuts & washers to hold the parts in their proper place)

get rid of your firearms first. Owning any trigger componant is constructive intent, if you own an ar-15 don't touch any m16 firing assembly's.

If you modify it so that theres no way it could go into an m16 then maybe you would be good to go, like weld the pin through the hole and fix it to a plate so its still movable.

I would not bring attention to myself with the ATF.

I would just ask them how I could do this while still being within the law..

I agree or a throw away hotmail account that you create and use from a public computer... in an area without cameras.

my guess is as long as it's modified in a way that it could never fit in a real m16 or modified ar-15 then you would be good to go. For example if you made the parts by hand (mill, file, lathe, dremel) and made them 4 times as big as the real parts; then technically they aren't machine gun parts just a large illustration that you created. Never were or could be created for use as machine gun parts.

The issue with this is unless you have a class 3 buddy, or find good diagrams you can't machine those parts without actually having some to look at.
