[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Engine rebuilder

I've heard about an engine rebuilder in Kentucky thats supposed to be cheaper than Grooms in Nashville. Anyone have any idea about this place? I need a toyota 22re. Would take a good used one if anybody has one. Thanks!

Isn't there a business that rebuilds engines in every town in every state in the country? There's two in my town.

Yes but there's one I keep hearing about somewhere in Ky. that is about $800 cheaper than anyone else. Startin to think its one of thos urban legends. Grooms is the biggest rebuilder in Mid-Tenn just tryin to find a better deal. Have 4-5 shops in my town but no-one I trust.

why not just buy an old clunker from a junk yard and rebuild it your self? I had an 86 toyota pickup with the 22r and i spun a main bearing so i just pulled and and took it apart and rebuilt the whole thing not much to those engines.
