Just wanted to pass along a story about a friend of mine who lives in my neighborhood.  His car is parked outside in the driveway while a truck and his wife's car is parked in the garage.  Last night someone broke into his car and stole some stuff including his Glock 27 he had left in the car.  I don't know where he kept the gun in the car or if it was locked up (I know he should have taken the gun in and I think this might have taught him a lesson) but as it stands it is now stolen.  The crook, I assume since he now has a gun, then decided to use his garage door opener and entered the garage.  The crook then stole a bunch of stuff out of his garage and stuff from the other vehicles.  Both my buddy and his wife were asleep in the house during the robbery.  Luckily the crook decided not to truly enter the house since if he did enter, their bedroom would have been less than 20 feet away from the the garage entry door.

I am posting this more as a reminder that if you park outside to not leave your gun and to be very careful if you leave your garage door opener in the car while it is outside.  This just makes it easy for the crook to enter your house and if you are lucky steal stuff and unlucky to attack you and your family.  Also if you live in South Central KY, be suspicious of anyone trying to sell you a glock 27 for the next little bit.  If I come across the serial number, I will post it later.  With any luck they will catch the crook since he took credit cards from the wife's purse and hopefully they are dumb enough to try and use them.  Let's keep our fingers crossed ...

Secondly, I am writing to let anyone know who wants to get rid of a glock 27 I know someone who is in need.  He would prefer a FTF deal since he is going to be hurting for money since his insurance won't pay the lost gun.  If you have one you can IM or email me and I can pass your information along.  He is not a member here and I don't think he will be anytime soon since he knows the shit he'll endure about the mistakes he made.

Saw that in the paper. Out of place for that zip code. Hope he gets the weapon back.

May have happened there as well, but where I am talking about is Somerset, KY.

My personal hope is that the person who stole his gun doesn't know anything about guns and has an neglident discharge to somplace in his own body.  It also has me concerned since it was in my neighborhood is that now the guy has a gun (if he didn't already) and he might be just a little more bold and try to enter the house knowing his is armed.

If your friend is an NRA member, he has insurance –– provided the vehicle was locked.

If he is not a member...well...

I personally believe, he will never see that pistol again.  It's not like a glock 27 is a rare gun and I would say that it would be hard to find it even if they do try to sell it.  Hopefully he learned his lesson and won't have to grow through this again.
