and would like to know what Kentucky law is regarding transporting handguns. Handgun locked/enclosed in box (padlock/no padlock), mag out, no ammo in mags, ammo separate? Please advise and thanks in advance.

ETA: Read your laws in the sticky regarding use of force and rights of protection. Very interesting, especially the no retreat clause.

You can keep a loaded handgun in your glove box, and the glove box does not need to be locked.

I've found in a holster on my hip is an easy way to transport a handgun around these parts.Kentucky is an Open Carry state and regardless of what you read on the internet you won't be arrested, hassled, shot, etc. I've OCed for about 20 years with ZERO problems. If you are uncomfortable with that then loaded in the glove compartment is fine too.

Open carry would not bother me but my sister would freak. I will use secondary option. It is more for a just in case and want it accessible if needed. Thanks.
