Anyone use them to install a A2 FSB on a AR barrel, drill
and pin?

I am interested in this also. Most shops wouldn't do it that I asked. There is a fsb that can be put on with a set screw and minor effort(drill). That worked for me. Most people said just go buy a barrel with one already on...

Maybe Adco is an option depending on the barrel finish/hardening?

You deal with Mitch- he is the boss owner. You put Phil in a bad spot by going in and asking for him.... It's Mitch's shop and he deals with the customers. You gotta know Phil and see him on his time

I wasn't talking about having Phil do it on the side, but rather that he talk to Phil about it since Mitch and John aren't too big on the "black guns" as they call them. He'll likely be the one who ends up working on it anyway.

Buy the barrel with the fsb on it. Sounds like too much of hassle, and Phil and Mitch sound like FUDD fools.

It is too much of a hassle.
I too wanted to drill, taper ream and pin one of my project builds.
Bare undrilled fsb and pins are still in my parts kit.
Ended up just buying another barrel with a forged fsb and put a low pro gas block on the barrel I had.
This is with a fully stocked machine shop.
Not worth the time, unless it is something really special of a barrel and/or project.

Does the barrel have a dimple already under the gas port? Is it a special barrel to the owner?

Just SBR the lower and you're all set.  That's what I did.

I'm doing an IDF clone with a mid length gas system tough to find a
mid length gas system on a .625 barrel with a front sight base.
I might SBR one day but not this rifle.

Not that you asked, but ADCO is the answer.

I would used ADCO before I would let them touch anything.

I have personally used this guy & would do so again http://retroarmsworks.com/index.html

I did one myself on one of my guns. I drilled and tapped  underside of sight first installed with set screw than shot gun to confirm sight wasn't canted. Next I drilled out for tapper pins with straight bit the chased hole out with tapered drill bit. Pretty easy

I had them drill and pin a gas block. I was happy with the work. They're all about preban stuff up there so I'm sure they'd pin a flash hider.
