I could swear I just saw a thread on this subject, but cant find it!
A buddy just bought a pre ban colt with the infamous auto sear block. He is debating dremeling it out himself, or sending the work out. Anyone know of a local shop (Western CT) that can do the job? Thanks! |

If you don't have a drop in auto sear- why remove the block- it does not affect function or appearance |

If you just bought a lower and do not have the matching BCG then you either need to find a Colt BCG, machine a BCG to work or machine out the sear block. If you want to install a Geiselle or LaRue trigger you need to remove it. M60 Joe can do it. I am sure Delta and, as Conndcj confirmed, JoJos can do it. |

Guys
Thanks for all the quick replies. His goal was to have a lower that could be used with a 9MM upper/bolt. So, he didn't have to remove the whole thing, just the top. He has already ground it down (he had it in his hands for about an hour before work started). On thing he noticed though. He already owned an Hbar, and his Colt bolt assembly out of it fit and functioned in his WW 300 BO upper. However he bought the bolt assembly that came with the new lower as a complete rifle, and the bolt will not go into the barrel extension of the WW upper. The new bolt and carrier does appear to fit his original Hbar fine. Interesting! |

The pin sometimes has a little play in the upper and so if it is not perfectly centered the lugs will not line up. |
