So I'm in the market for my first suppressor. The one I want isn't carried by anyone I've seen locally and the prices online are better. So now I need to find a shop to do the transfer. I know Delta is a common place, but I think it's $50? Does anybody do it cheaper? Can be anywhere in state, I travel a lot for work.

Don't do it

Considering the amount of paperwork and time it takes, $50 is probably the lowest you will find.

In stock transfers (you buy and do paperwork right there) don't usually have an additional transfer fee, but the process is faster even though you pay a little more for the suppressor.  Ordering a superior online can add 1-5 months to the process.

I purchased my can through silencershop.com and they're going to transfer it through ArmsX in Naugatuck.

ArmsX charges $25.00

I find and order all of mine online from other dealers and have them sent here.  Don't ever trust a dealer to "order you one".
As for I state suppressors I can't tell you who would have any of them in stock.

What are you looking for?

Just called them, because I questioned your surprise, and you're right.

$100 bucks.

I didn't know their can fees were different than their firearms. Which are $25.

JoJos is 100 bucks also.

I'm still under the mindset that a gallon of diesel should be .50 cents, like it was in 1986!

Twenty gallons of fuel should be 10 damn dollars, God dammit!!!!! Not close to a hundred!!!!

Government intervention is NEVER good!

Thanks for the info guys.

Tbr, I'll let you shoot it

Sardo, I'm looking at the TBAC 30PS. Its going to be primarily for running subs on my .300Blk so I want quiet, but I will also use it on my 6.8 SPR so accuracy is still a concern.

Is Delta $50 or are they more? Any body else have price updates?

ETA: I'm looking at Hansohn Brothers for purchase, great prices and they seem pretty legit. The guy there Chris emailed me back within an hour and seemed very pleasant.

Forget the Harley, I know a guy selling a Gold Wing for a song. Then you can have a quiet bike and a quiet gun.

Delta charged me 50 bucks last month.

I ordered an osprey through them as well, I called this week (1 month after ordering) and it hasn't arrived. I'm thinking I was better off ordering it myself, but they only wanted 60 bucks more then silencershop and it's my first one so I figured I'd go through them. I don't know what the normal wait time is going through silencershop.com. I'm thinking of calling them and asking.

I think wait times really come down to ATF paper work, not the shop you buy it from.

I bought an Octane 45 too. The suppressor has not arrived yet either. Marie did tell me about 4-6 weeks for it to arrive. If I went with Silencer shop I could have started the paperwork now but with the extra time doing it this way and with the fees I will wait for Delta. I ordered my Saker the same way and that came in in about 4 weeks. I could have saved $100-150 shopping online. I really want to help a local shop especially one as helpful as Delta.

Make sure the out of state seller has it in stock too.  The silencer market is full of vaporware

I prefer in-state.   Less wait time = worth the local dealer premium.  But don't settle for a can that doesn't shot your needs just because it is in-stock either.

Did you make a down payment for it?  Ask for a copy of the form 3 on it so you can see that it's actually ordered and not just "on order".  I've seen so many people wait for month for a suppressor that never even got ordered.

Yup

Dealers often have to order a minimum number of suppressors.  So if you are #3 out of the 5 min required to order, you'll be waiting.

I have purchased several through Delta. I take the silencer shop price + 50.00 transfer fee then add 25.00 - 30.00 dollars to the price and I consider that a fair price for the suppressor. Silencer shop must get a volume discount that shops like Delta can't get. I prefer to support the local shops, specifically Delta. I always pay in full upfront so there is no excuse for not ordering it. Never had a problem. Also if waiting a few extra weeks is a problem you should avoid purchasing one altogether. Wait times will change without notice. I've waited up to 47 weeks.

Well that's disappointing. I wish I would have known before paying upfront in full.

Just stay on them, ask for the form 3 copy.  Form 3s aren't taking long anymore but who they ordered it from if not directly from the maker could take longer.

Buying in-stock also usually gets you better customer service in navigating your first NFA purchase.....

Not that it is difficult or confusing, but having a friend walk you through the process the first time is helpful and reassuring.

just remeber that transfer times to the dealer have been getting longer. the time for the dealer to trasnfer to the stamp holder has shortened. most supporessor stamps I have done recently have been right around 5 months from atf check cashed to can in hand....

also, if you have Delta do it you can at least go use the can on their range as the item stays on the property. Usually a let down becuase it is louder indoors, but at least you can use it while waiting...
