PWA hasn't been around for a long time.  Someone at LMT can verify the manufacture date of a PWA.

OP- is your dealer requiring you to produce a letter about preban status before transferring it to you?

It took over 3 months for me to receive a letter from LMT on a PWA. No response to my email request, one day this March a letter simply showed up at the house.

No I'm still here. Having FL as my state avoids the issue discussed in a couple threads lately when buying things in the EE.

3 months? holy shit! if its gonna take that long can the FFL holder hand it over in the mean time? cause if i rememver correctly someone on here said the letter is not needed but best to have it to cover both ass's. the serial number is 13XXX and thats like 22,000 lower then what the AR pre ban bible shows.

Good thing it isn't a necessity for you, stuff like this isn't a priority for anybody

I sent an email back in October through the LMT online contact form because I was curious as to the MFG date (I didn't need the date, I was just curious).  December rolled around and I had not gotten a response to that email so on Dec 4th I called LMT and got a specific email address to send my request to. I emailed asking if it were possible to be told the mfg date of the lower, and that I would be happy to pay if there was a fee for any paperwork. I gave up waiting for a reply after another 2 months since it didn't really matter whether I knew the mfg date or not, as it was certainly preban by the serial number. One day in late February, I received a letter dated 2/19/13.

It is good to have peace of mind on a piece of letterhead, but don't sweat it if you are nowhere near the cutoff number.

Shoot the rifle, enjoy the rifle, and enjoy not having to register
