Anyone know the value on a nighthawk Larry Vickers model 1of 250. Serious provenance?

I'd say 1,500-2,000 range.

It's serial number 1, from his personal collection, does that help the value. I would think to the right person. We are trying to work out a deal, we both have things the other wants.

I've seen them in varying conditions on GB sell for between $2000-3000 generally. Now seeing that it is a special number with a special owner the value could go up but exactly how much is up to the buyer. I got a silly deal on mine but it was a rare situation.

If you buy it, make sure you get something in writing that it is his pistol. Then if you ever resell it, it would hold it's value. If he does something to make national news, that pistol would be priceless.

Being it's Vickers pistol (and previously owned) I low balled the price. I'd say $3000 minimum.

the larry Vickers nighthawk custom 1911 was a limited run of pistols from NHC. it wasn't a huge seller from the price of it as most other NHC 1911's were a few hundred cheaper.

I have never seen any nighthawk custom 1911 go for $1500 even in a beat up condition. even beat up wilsons go for $1800 up, and that's a lucky pick up... ususally used nighthawks and wilsons go for mid 2's easily if they are in decent shape......
they have a great resell value as there is a long wait time to get a new one, that they keep their value.....

I would buy them all day long at $1500 for a used one, hell you can barely get a dan Wesson for that price......

Getting it documented would be no problem. I can have him write a letter or even engrave it. He is a very down to earth guy. Doesn't  co e across as anything but honest and good character.

Does it come with Cheetoh dust and printer Toner still trapped in the nooks and crannies, or will it be detaile stripped and cleaned before deliver?

But it and put spongebaeb grips on it

Is this the 1911 you are buying?

What he's buying is a Nighthawk built to specs that a plank holder of Delta Force, as well as one of the finest 1911 smiths ever, wanted.  Additionally, he is an excellent instructor for both pistol and carbine.  Kind of a cheap shot that does nothing to answer the OP's question.  His body has pretty much been through hell and back.  His heaviness that seems to amuse you so much also did nothing to stop him from taking time from a training class to send me an autographed picture wishing me well from my recovery from cancer.  Yeah, just like Mark @ Stag, Larry seems like a real dick.

For the OP, Vickers later withdrew his support for his series of pistols because Nighthawk allegedly wandered away from  the original specs and he did not want his name associated with them.  I have no idea if that pertains to your pistol.  From its' serial number I would guess not.

It would be his personal s/n 1. I'd have to ask if he did the work on this one because its his. I wouldn't sell it. I was just asking on thoughts as to value so I can evaluate whether the transaction was/is fair to both of us.

I know you don't go into GD, but the whole "make fun of LAV" thing is kind of a meme for this site based on a series of very public blowups and exchanges he had here and with a few other websites.   I personally have no issue with him.  I'm just repeating a punchline and meme.  Is it disrespectful?  Yup.  But no different than our misdirected anger at a whole host of other people and topics.

I know who Larry is, what he has done, and what he has given.  I know about his injuries, and why he probably put on some weight.  He is 10x the man most here will ever be.

The ridicule is part of the culture here.  I'm not asking you to respect that.  But I am telling you what it is.  I can't change it, you can't change it.  It is what it is.  The best I can do is to not perpetuate it.  But that would be no fun, and nobody is sacred.

Let's just leave it as it was a GD response that was better suited for GD.  HTF is pretty much a substitute for GD, if not worse.  I'm not going to apologize for anything here, but I could assure you man to man, that my response would had been different in a non-GD atmosphere.  It's all internet bullshit as far as I am concerned.

I am genuinely interested in how the OP came across this opportunity.  This is not something that comes up to an enthusiast except on a once in a lifetime opportunity, and either by a ridiculous amount of luck, or an awing amount of the right connections.

I don't  want to be disrespectful on the background of  how this has come to be a possibility, I respect someone's privacy. Especially when they are a public figure and may want as much privacy as they can get. Bottom line is I was  wondering what thoughts are on his NH as opposed to possibly something else of his. I don't know what the values/worth are on his s/n 1 NH versus maybe one of his built 1911's, which I haven't even asked about yet. I am trying to assess values as we both have things the other would like, so again I am trying to figure out what is fair to both of us. I can say he has been as humble and respectful a person as one could hope to be themselves in our conversations. Considering what he has personally done for his own goals and our country, I admire him and think he deserves respect, regardless of a forums typical interactions.

Fair enough.  I don't ask for/expect apologies here or anywhere else but I understand where you're coming from.  I appreciate the response.

I have no idea what his NF would be worth but I know two guys who have full LAV 1911 builds.  I offered one guy a LOT of money.  He politely declined.  I wasn't that far away from five figures.

No prob.

Have you inquired with other sources besides here in the HTF?

Djc knows his stuff, but there is a much wider knowledge base than what is in here.

No I have not. I just wanted an idea. The values on certain things aren't always weighed in dollars, so I didn't put that much effort into it.        Thanks
