Riverview has some used 5.56 barrels that are threaded for $150 and they're match grade. They look relatively dirty but the rifling is still sharp. Is there anything specific to look for your when buying a used barrel? I figure it will be cheaper the having my current barrel threaded and it is a better quality than a stock s&w barrel. Forgive me for sounding like a newbie but I have never bought a used barrel and the only gun I bought used was an m9 which was my second gun and it turned out to be accurate as hell.

Edit: I know to look for rust pitting and a damaged crown, I'm not that derp derp.

Brand? Twist? Chamber?

What makes you think they're "match grade"?

Only way to really inspect a used barrel is to thoroughly clean it, dry it, and inspect it with a strong light and preferably a borescope. Otherwise you're just buying promises and hope..

Even then there's a chance it'll be a stinker...

Brand was unknown, twist 1 in 8, chamber 5.56 and it said match on the barrel. Threaded with no attachments and no signs of being pinned.

Stainless?

Worry is that they are M&A Parts or something like that.

I think that these are the same ones that they have had for over a year.  Were they on one of the lower shelves in an isle?  If so they have been there a loooooong time and I believe they aren't even chrome lined.

When you have options like this why bother with questionable sources?

There are plenty of other options out there as well, that was just the first I found.

150 isn't bad for a local in store barrel, for me the cheaper the better.

OP if you're looking for a barrel look online and you can find cheaper, the EE here has good deals a lot.
