I've recently purchased and imported a preban. The price was fair, and there really wasn't a premium associated with it. Having said that, I have seen a few carpet baggers selling at obscene prices... I also notice their rifles aren't selling too quickly. Now that Colts are fair game, the pool of preban AR's has multimedia by a factor at least 10. Colt production numbers from before 94 dwarf the combined production of all other prebans. In the past, we only has a choice of the relatively small pool of preban eagle, EA, SGW/oly, Frankford, sendra, bushmaster, very few palmetto / DPMS , and the rare colt 6521. This won't make them cheap, but the prices should remain steady because nobody can really corner the market on the shitload of colts out there. |

Armslist and GB and EE has them. There should a good amount out there. Edit: there is so many prebans out there but there has to be proof not a letter but a stamped date like which is found on a Mak90 first two digits of the serial number and also Clinton banned import on Chinese AK's and the last shipment hit our shores on May 94 so they are all preban Edit : fuck Dan Malloy |

Some are too real. Watch out for an extra rivet on some of them. |

Some are too real. Watch out for an extra rivet on some of them. You have to watch out for that on some MAK-90s (and certain other Chinese models) as well. More recently, that issue came up on a shipment of Saigas that were built on flats that were drilled for happy parts. In most countries outside of the US, the plugged hole and semi fire control group are sufficient. Here, you might as well have went all the way. |

I've sold off almost half my collection, 12+ prebans, including another one up right now, and I've always sought to sell them under what they are priced at locally.

Apparently its SLFU who is claiming that the buyer needs to show proof of manufacture date for prebans. And yes that opinion/rule has no basis in law just as their reinterpretation on banned by name prebans may not have a basis in law since they ignore a portion of the law to come to their new opinion on prebans. But they are apparently requiring FFL's to ask for the letter anyway. |
