I was in an accident , cop shows up asked what happened we BSed  I had to crawl under the truck and beat on some steel to be able yo drive it. So I reluctantly informed him that I was carrying because I would have had to put it in the truck or risk exposing it.
I said just so there are no surprises I want to let you know I'm carrying.
He said OK that no problem can I see you permit?
Sure!
He checks the expiration , ask what I'm carrying
I reply
He said nice! I don't need to see it unless you plan to unholster it.
To which I replied no I don't intend to use it.
He did his paper work and said be safe.

I call BS.

I was told that every cop will be calling in to DPS to ensure your mags are registered and ensuring that no more than 10 rounds are in there.

So you must have been carrying a revolver.

I was a little surprised it didn't go differently myself. Unless he assumed that because it's a g27 that I didn't have an extended mag. But he never saw the weapon.

Now, I don't want to call BS on BS, but how would the DPS know if the mag is registered?  They probably have a month or more of data entry to even begin to build a data base on mags.  Also, maybe what you were "TOLD" was the guidance of one department, and that has no bearing on any other PD.  Or maybe, the source of that information is the same as the magazine tax the state is about to levy on us (that IS total BS).

You know, I have no delusion that the cops are our friends, but I have no doubt that different departments have different guidelines, and that certain officers are on our side more than Hartford.  Just think of it, unless you posted it here, who would know what transpired?  He asked to see your permit, it was valid, and he was OK with it.

Now, if it was a DUI stop, or some other situation where the driver was in any other trouble, you bet they would have counted the rounds in the magazine!

I'm throwing the BS flag too. No mention of a dog being shot, no law abiding gun carrier/owner being proned out, no doors being kicked in, no bogus charges or claims.

eh, there's still some ok cops out there, no one said there wasn't.  Unfortunately, there's at least as many anti-2A cops as good cops.  Good luck that you didn't run into one of the jealous ones.

I should be getting my LCM tax receipt soon. So at least I will be covered during a traffic stop.

My accountant said I should be able to write off my LCM tax for the 2014 year.
