I LOVE my DPMS 308LR B but damn.......it gets pretty heavy even with a normal scope on it. I'd be curious to know what that setup weighs. Rome |

Maybe he owned a starlight scope when he was in vietnam? (green berets) One thing for sure, John Wayne movies on TV are hard to find lately. |

While the full tilt PEQ-15 is much more powerful, it's way overkill for me. The RAPTAR is good up to 300m. Best of all, no scouring the Net for legal full power units that no one will service for you if it breaks. Even though they are pretty tough, you can end up with a multi-thousand dollar paperweight. The RAPTAR has a full warranty and it modular so it can be upgraded. It's pretty awesome. |

I got 3 stupid movies on youtube. 2 shooting (1 AR15 556 and 1 Ruger 10/22) I screwed the NV to my Sony handycam so I shoot the gun by viewing the Sony view finder. It gives the viewer some indication on recoil and the sound as the camera is on top of the weapon. Poor quality as I was only screwing around with the setup. The setup runs great. 100% accurate and very easy to target at night. One thing you will see is the internal plastic "dust" from the PVS14 case stick to the inside lens of the PVS14 as I shoot the gun. After shooting like this, I have to open the case up and clean the junk off the lenses. I think shooting NV with weapons attached will in time destroy the NV. They say you can shoot it like this but, it's destructive on them IMHO. Stupid movies This gun was sold. I found it to be too heavy when it was all put together. One pictured above is shorter and lighter, a big plus. Larue makes great stuff, but the HBAR barrel and full rail adds weight. 
Little 22. Ignore the first bit, if you want to see the gun shoot.
Then the last dumb movie I just walk around with the IR illuminator and NV. One thing, I don't know why but the image off the NV view finder is beautiful, nice and sharp etc, but when I attach it to the Sony handycam it gets some what degraded. Perhaps the Sony is trying to focus the image or something?
