On my American made firearms, I simply wrote (NONE) under the importer. Most of my firearms don't have any unique markings, only the typical markings for that model, so I wrote (NONE) for that as well, with the exception of my FAL clone, which was made with some surplus parts and has a serial number on the lower receiver as well as the upper receiver. Because on the FAL the upper receiver is the regulated part, I put that serial number in the serial number blank. I put the unique serial number from the lower on the unique identifying markings field ("####### behind safety on lower receiver")

When doing a confirmation of the info I put down I caught the fact my S&W m&p--22 was made in Germany by Walther and imported by S&W .
