| On The Mag Decleration form. First column What everyone putting down for make? AR-15, AK47, GLOCK 19 as an example. Or just put down "AMMUNITION STORAGE COMPONENTS".? |

Put down the magazine manufacturer. AMMUNITION STORAGE COMPONENTS is the name of an actual company that manufactures magazines. If you don't know the name or its not stamped on the magazine then put down something like "unknown" or "not available" or "N/A".
On a side note I thought the same thing, that we could just use "ammunition storage components" for the "make" and was educated on it a few months back. I commented at the time (and I'm sure laughed at) for stating that people would be confused and think that its ammunition storage components is not the name of a company but actually an "ammunition storage component" which is what a magazine actually is in literal terms. This thread isn't the first thread in recent weeks on a gun forum to ask the same question on what to put down for "make". Edit: Personally I think it was stupid for the state to use that text as an example for "make". Probably would have been better to use "Magpul" or some other manufacturer who's name isn't so easily confused. |

The state really could have done a better job explaining things on both the magazine declaration form and the assault weapon registration form. BUt then again we shouldn't be surprised that this is confusing as hell for many people including those charged with creating the red tape and interpreting the laws. |
