in production prior to or on effective date of this legislation we cant alter the rifle with a different stock without the pistol grip. it has to be a new design I don't understand what you are saying here. Your lowers have to registered regardless of the presence of a pistol grip. The State Police cannot make law by pronouncement. |

Here is the registration form. I just received it from Mike at Metacon.
http://www.ct.gov/despp/lib/despp/slfu/firearms/dps-414-c_assault_weapon_cert.pdf Not only do you need your DPS-3 you need a proof of date of purchase? WTF isnt that the same document? I need the sales receipt? Who is the authorized officer? My PD is gonna go batshit fingerprinting my thumb 8 times. 2 ar's 1 Ruger 10/22, cuz I am putting a threaded barrel on it? 1 Ruger 22/45 lite, w/threaded barrel? I got the DPS-3s, not sure about the receipts. What a fucking nightmare. |

I have a stripped lower, and complete lower. Am I right in understanding these get different treatment? Can I put a 10/22 upper on either of them, and its a 10/22 rifle? I'd recommend registering the lowers as you intend to finish them. You don't have to provide much description, and it is all by mail. Not sure how legal it is, but once they gun is completed, how would anyone ever know? Borrow parts to "finish" the lower into a functional rifle if you are uncomfortable stretching the truth on the form. You know your arfcom buddies will make sure parts are around. |
