Im sorry to bother everyone.I am new here and looking to gather some knowledge.
I have a "Colt Match Target Rifle," rifled in 5.56 I am from Massachusetts, and trying to find out if I can go to another state to purchase ammo and bring it back? Also, being in Mass, can I add a Scope, Light, and change the hand guards? Also are the magazines interchangeable with other AR15's? I know I cant mess with the stock, or put a bayo lug on it. There are so many "Dont Do's" here. Thank you. |

Welcome to the site!
Scope, light, handguards, go nuts! You can do as you wish in that realm with no legal ramifications. 99% of AR mags are interchangeable. If one does not work in another rifle its likely a tolerance issue in manufacturing. IE, fits more snug in rifle A than in rifle B. (They should all work though, generally speaking) We dont have any ammo in CT, zip, zero, nada. Stay away, whats left is only for us. Roads closed pizza boy, find another way home. Rule number one of Ar15.com, never apologize to anybody, for anything, ever. Be sure to stick around, tons and tons of good information on this site. Dont be shy either, we aren't afraid of questions, and as a newb, you probably have plenty. |

OP do you like Glocks? You better say yes, or he will come to your house and burn a giant G in your yard with quick lime. You can only deny him for a little while and then your resistance will break down and you will shamefully admit you secretly purchased one from a private seller in South Carolina.... Oh wait, that was me.... |

Nice. I am from Massachusetts, and trying to find out if I can go to another state to purchase ammo and bring it back?
You may. Also, being in Mass, can I add a Scope, Light, and change the hand guards?
No issues. Also are the magazines interchangeable with other AR15's?
Yes. Have to use Preban (Pre-1994) magazines in MA if they're over 10 rounds. I know I cant mess with the stock, or put a bayo lug on it.
Right. There are so many "Dont Do's" here.
Yep. Thank you.
You're welcome. |

I am from Massachusetts, and trying to find out if I can go to another state to purchase ammo and bring it back? Since you live in MA, do you have the appropriate permit(s) to allow you to buy and possess ammunition in your state? If not then its best to cover your bases and get the appropriate permit for ammunition possession in MA before buying ammo outside of your state and bringing it back in. That said in CT there is no permit required to buy ammo so you shouldn't have any problems buying here. Finding ammo in stock is another story...
NY with the passage of their SAFE Act apparently has or will shortly have background checks on ammo purchases. Unknown how, or even if, that would affect someone from out of state who goes there to purchase ammunition. It appears that there are no restrictions (other than being over 18) on purchasing ammunition in RI. VT and NH are good to go for out of staters to purchase ammo. |

You're welcome. You can swap it to another fixed stock... It would be kind of dumb, but if you gave up the pistol grip, you could even go to a telescoping or folding stock as your feature. |

You guys are out of control. This thread needs to be stirred up a little more so I will throw this out there, shoot an HK and you guys will forget all about your Glocks Been there, done that. Sold the HK. Very good gun, but its just an overcomplicated Glock. Quintessentially German. I'd pay Hk prices for Glock if they cost that much. |
