Keep the pressure on! We're doing well and holding our own, but the fight isn't over! I don't want to overestimate our current situation, but I think we've at least got them back on their heels. Keep pounding away! Letters, emails, phone calls, hanging out outside their kitchen windows at 3AM, whatever works! Just keep the pressure on!
Stutterin' Dan is obviously perturbed by us and our continuing presence at these Town Hall meetings and in Hartford. We've got a long way to go (IIRC, Scott Wilson of CCDL said this legislative session ends June 9th) but we can do this. We've held our own so far, we can keep it up! It's good to see my fellow CT Gun Owners out here on the front lines! Lately, I've been very proud to call myself a Connecticunt! Being from the South originally, I wasn't sure if gun owners up here have the stomach to keep up a good fight. Well, you've all proved me wrong, and for that, I tip my hat to you's guys.
As I'm sure everyone knows, post any and all news about upcoming hearings here in NEHTF. Hell, even throw a thread in GD now and then to call in the CT miscreants that hang out in there to direct them here. We need their support, too! Again, we're doing good, but we're not done. Let's take this fight to 'em and when the time comes to deal the knockout punch, let's do it! - P |

ive noticed that a lot of the anti-gunners keep saying "the majority of connecticut wants these bans in place" my response is " if thats so, then where are they at the hearings and why are all the legislators now slowing down their push?" I'm lost right now, did we "win" anything today? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel, or are we in a calm before the storm so to speak? |

The fact that nothing has passed yet, and there is a lot of hot air being blown around by the other side should be a clue. If there was a consensus, and the people of CT wanted this bill, it would had passed right after the session started. I've seen Democrats sit there and essentially say "wtf is the point of all this BS legislation?" right in front of me. It's their eureka moment. They "Get it" on that level, but they still have to consider their own political ambitions within the party once a caucus is called. Just keep your nose in the game and push the issue of legislating before the police investigation is completed. The issue right now is that it is largely true that the public wants "something" done, and done fast. But they are waking up to the issue about the investigation and police report, and are realizing that maybe we should take our time and really address the issue. It doesn't mean that they don't want gun control. But it may mean that the public isn't looking for the militant "hand them in" demands that we saw in January. They, and myself do not want this to happen again, and are realizing that we have to evaluate the whole thing with a meaningful dialouge. |
| The whole E-Cert thing worries me more than anything....I emailed my Rep again tonight and asked him to do anything he can to stop an E-Cert. I also said that the leaked info about Lanza further proves this is more about mental health than gun control. I'm not backing down on anything! |

Dan is right. If they could have, they would have passed anything they wanted to a month ago...but they didn't.
On my way home from the Norwich Town Hall meeting tonight, I was talking about the situation and basically came to the conclusion that the only reason they haven't passed something yet is because of the hard work we all have put into this fight. Now, this isn't to say they won't still send something to Ol' Dan, but the mere fact that they haven't done so yet is a clear indication that we are having an effect. In any case, I'm not complying, so Ol' Dan and his comrades can suck it. |

Sources we have within the legislature say we've made a massive difference. Nobody expected the turnout and the convincing testimonies.
Plus they are scared for their jobs. As they should be. But now we need to DOUBLE our efforts against and also support good legislation like what's being proposed tomorrow (SB123)... Make sure to call a praise those bills we support too... But yeah, Mao could certainly press the e-cert issue. With $500k in Soros cash in envelopes it could be done tomorrow. |

I agree - I suspect the breadth and depth of the resistance knocked them back a few steps. They have lost their momentum, and that clearly irritates Malloy and that shitbag Lawlor. However, they will spring something on us soon. Hope the federal lawsuit is ready to go - like in NY.

I think the only reason D-D-Danny made a big push is because he was wooed by the White House. Dems that sing the WH tune get rewarded. Edit: Plus he's a worthless Commie that deserves tar and feathers... just wanted to clarify. This is worth being repeated! |
