I wonder how far they are going to try and stick the high capacity magazine up our collective magwells with this group. |

A lot of the names on there are in mental health, public policy, and school administration.
That does give some insight as to what is going to be their focus. My thought is that they will be trying to come up with policy that allows access or screening of mental health records, and the docs and policy guys are there to figure out how to skirt HIPPA laws. I have a few other thoughts regarding their makeup, but I'll elaborate on those thoughts later on tonight. |

Do you honestly think Dannel and his merry band of Thieving Goons will pay attention to what they say? It is political theater to make people in Newtown happy, they know what they want already and that is guns. They will ignore the mental health issue, just like they have in the past. They will go after the most restrictive gun laws they can pass, and I guarandamntee it will include a tax increase. |

But I do not think that this panel is particularly set up to design anti gun legislation. My biggest fear is that this turns into a big committee to write gun legislation, where you have 20 parties giving a bunch of advice on topics they do not understand. Picture a bunch of your high school teachers sitting around a conference table with a dozen gun publications and catalogs.......thy are going to each come up with one thing that is particularly offensive to them, and they will out it in the bill. It will be a patchwork clusterfuck. These are the people who think that pistol grips are bad because you can fire from the hip or something. The result is you get idiots banning things like "weapon lights". Don't laugh, they already banned flash hiders because they make you invisible. |
