Looking for some advice on CCW pieces. I had an m&p .40 compact that i loved but it is no longer with me *tear*, but thats not why i am here today. I brought this dilemma of a new CCW to a good buddy and after descusion i was told to try a glock 19. So i CC a g19 for a weekend, take it to the range and it shoots great. Being a 1911 guy i feel as though i have cheated on it, but g.d. those were some tight controlled pairs coming out of the 19! I still want to shoot the m&p 9 compact but i cant get that 19 out of my head! So here are my two questions: 1. What do you recommend i try out before making a purchase? (im 6'5" 230 so concealment isnt a huge issue) and 2. WHY THE HELL DID I LET DANTSX TEMPT ME WITH HIS SIREN SONG OF GLOCKS?!?!
*sigh* thanks for any input |

Dan sez G26 I'm looking for a Shield. With out getting my butt stretched. MY FNX 9 is the same size as a G19, give or take. But I must own a 19. Dan sez so. did you get the repettative "glock #1. i have spoken" cd from him as well? Ill give the fnx9 a shot. I ff'd a shield. I liked it but the only problen is i have hands that can palm a basketball. I lost the gun in my grip. well that and hoffmans said 4-6 weeks! i got my permit so i dont have to wait... waiting is unamerican... we dont wait. |
| I owned a SA 1911, Beretta 92FS, and SIG 226 before I ever touched a Glock. The grip angle and plastic frame was a turnoff to me until a buddy of mine bought a G23 and I've been hooked ever since. I'm up to four- new G23, new G20sf, used G19, and used LEO trade-in G22 and now looking to add a G26 and G30 or G36. Of all the affordable pistols I've ever shot I do the best with Glocks. |

I love my Springfield XDM 40 4.5". I carry a full size pistol (normally open, but do conceal it sometimes). My first experience with a handgun was a Glock 22, which I shot and carried at my job for a long time. I think they're both great pistols, point-ability is the same with both.. don't be fooled by the "odd grip angle" statements, they're both easy to point. The only reason I chose the XDM over a G22 was because I've always wanted one, and I've been in love with them for years, ever since I first handled an XD40SC.
Either way you go, you can't go wrong. They're both amazing handguns, extremely accurate and dependable, and you can almost guarantee they will go bang when you press the trigger. I would also try out an M&P Shield, I have heard great things about them but never shot one. Caracal also makes polymer full-size and compact pistols, and I've been really impressed at what I've seen and heard about them. The Caracals I handled felt really great in the hand (didn't quite melt in the hand like the XDM to me..but again long-time love), and with the quick-acquisition sites they're really, really easy to aim. Of course, you only get a 2-3" sight radius, but it was almost natural how easy picking up on them was. |

I have been to the TSX Indoctrination Camp. My will is strong however. But he makes sense. Most widely used handgun on the planet. Pedorerro79 is getting one too http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg651/scaled.php?server=651&filename=gastonglockandkathrints.jpg&res=landing I'm only doing it to get you off my balcony every night...you guys have no idea what it's like having Dan outside your window every night whispering "G19, G19" or "10mm is best millimeter"...
But yes, i , too, will be joinging the throngs (dammit, autocorrect didn't correct that to "thongs") of Glock owners. Nobody gon' take my heart away from my ink-filled rollmarks M&P's though! FROM MY COLD, DEAD OVERSIZED-STIPPLED-DILDO HANDS!!! Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
