Hi, I live in Massachusetts and I am in the market to buy Pre-Ban magazines, if anyone can help me find a dealer, site or someone who knows someone that will ship to MA please contact me. This is very much appreciated. I am participating in a competition soon and 30-round magazines are recommended.
Thank you very much. |

about 3-4 months ago i was in BMG <newington, ct> and they had a bin full of preban mags especially for mass guys. Call them up. ...make a road trip out of it and stop at hoffmans and newington gun exchange ... and maybe even Cabelas in east hartford. Yup I bought a few 20rd colt pre ban mags there this summer |
| It's worth a call to Jo-Jo's too. A while back someone on here alerted us to them having a big stash at bargain bin prices and I picked up a few for a friend in NY. I imagine those have long since sold out but maybe they get more in regularly. Remember, all you need is a magazine body in good shape. You can replace the spring and follower and refinish it all you want. So feed lips and body not banged up and ignore the rest. |
| where in MA are you? CT could be way out of your way. try Four Seasons. or maybe the EE here or Northeast Shooters. |

Can you guys just buy Pre-ban high capacity mag from anywhere? The reason I ask is one guy I know said it was different then here in NY state. We are just required that they are PRE-ban no restrictions on if they were in your state continually since 94'. Or is this person way misinformed? |

There is no way they took inventory of all the magazines in state on Sept 13, 1994. |

We are just required that they are PRE-ban no restrictions on if they were in your state continually since 94'. Or is this person way misinformed? Well FUD is in full swing in MA. On May 24, 2011 Exec. Office of Public Safety issued an unsigned/undated "memo" to all police chiefs, BATFE, DAs, etc. INTENTIONALLY mis-interpreting MGLs to state that all pre-ban mags and pre-ban AWs had to be in-state ON 9/13/1994 (not before but actually on that date) to be legally possessed in MA. Further they contradict themselves by stating that NO pre-ban mags can be transfered no matter what. GOAL and some pro-gun legislators challenged EOPS about the mis-information but EOPS has successfully stonewalled by stating that "they are investigating the memo". I predicted (and still stand by this) that they will never address the mis-information or retract the memo. Meanwhile it has had the intended effect and I've heard from some people that some dealers/distributors will no longer ship anything to MA dealers or MA dealers won't sell any pre-ban stuff to customers. References: Bottom of this page has PDF links to the actual letter: http://www.goal.org/newspages/eops_error_letter_to_ffl.html The REAL Law on AWs/Mags: http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXX/Chapter140/Section131M/Print (NOTE: no reference to being "in state" in the law) The REAL Law on Dealer Sales of AWs and pre-ban Mags: http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXX/Chapter140/Section123 (Go to "Sixteenth" for this section. Also NOTE: NO reference to being "in state" in the law) So, EOPS wants people prosecuted based on FALSE INFORMATION that they intentionally released in a fashion that provides no accountability (I have numerous other memos with signatures and dates on them from EOPS), and "plausible deniability". The real goal is to do what they can to STOP all legal sales and possession in MA and this is a brilliant (per their goals) way to go about it. Cetane . . . to answer your question, yes MA Subjects can legally buy pre-ban mags/AWs anywhere in the world and be compliant with MGLs. |
