I am a total noob that is very interested in Coyote hunting.  Anybody know of best spots in NE to hunt them?  MA & CT is out of question due to AR laws.  Would like to put my AR's to more use than range & carbine classes.  Seems like this would be a challenge and fun.   Any suggestions would be appreciated.

almost anywhere in ME. You are limited to a 5-round mag in semi-autos, but can use lights/lasers during the night coyote season.

You can hunt those fuckers?

I've had to draw my CCW on them three times now.  They get spooked and leave if you stomp your feet, but I don't trust the mangy things.

Here are two from last year. I highly recommend killing them every chance you get.

Most anywhere in Vt and NH is good hunting.  I usually hunt right from my bedroom window.

This is my friend's house, he turned his 2nd floor bedroom into a coyote hunting room, complete with a 6 foot sliding window, 2 bunks, and all red lights.  We hunt all night and take 2 hours shifts sleeping & hunting.

Depends what you're hunting. I know of a few areas in New Haven and Bridgeport where I'm betting a predator hunting room could really produce!

I've been thinking about thinning out the coyotes near me, they are really putting too much pressure on the deer.

What's the best method?  Stay up all night and shine for them during night season?

If you bait right, will the come out in the day time?

Do I need to us a call?

I've been thinking of rigging up some sort of motion sensor light and alarm.  Anyone done this yet and have a general design?

I suggest moving to somewhere like TX where there is no season :)   Sorry, couldn't resist.

What's the best method? Stay up all night and shine for them during night season?  It depends.  They're different in every area I've hunted them.  They are crepescular in nature, meaning that they are most active in the dawn and dusk.

If you bait right, will the come out in the day time?  Be careful that baiting is legal in your area.  They will come out in the daytime, but you're better off calling them in daylight, not baiting them.  They'll hit bait piles at night.

Do I need to us a call?  It sure helps.

I've been thinking of rigging up some sort of motion sensor light and alarm. Anyone done this yet and have a general design?  The same friend who has the coyote hunting room beat you to it.  He has cameras as well as motion detectors set on his property.  Instead of turning on lights (which would spook the coyotes) the motion detector turns on a radio in the house.  Here's the problem... the coyotes can hear the "click" of the motion detector and it freaks them out.  Seriously.
